The PGA Tour visits San Antonio this week for the 2022 Valero Texas Open. The tournament is played at TPC San Antonio, and will serve as the final event before the 2022 Masters. Reigning champion Jordan Spieth is among the headliners in the Valero Texas Open field, and he is currently listed at 14-1 to defend his title. World No. 9 Rory McIlroy is the betting favorite at 15-2 in the latest Valero Texas Open odds from Caesars Sportsbook. Other top contenders include Corey Conners (18-1), Hideki Matsuyama (18-1), Abraham Ancer (22-1), and Bryson DeChambeau (25-1). If you don't love those odds, then you can bet on any individual match with head-to-head golf betting.

Head-to-head golf betting is growing in popularity and allows fans to bet on several individual matchups in the Valero Texas Open 2022. SportsLine's PGA expert, Mike McClure, has analyzed the field and used his proven golf model to simulate the 2022 Texas Open 10,000 times, and there are some MAJOR surprises.

SportsLine's proprietary model, built by McClure, has been RED-HOT since the PGA Tour resumed play in June of 2020. In fact, the model is up over $8,200 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.

At the 2021 Open Championship, McClure's best bets included Collin Morikawa winning outright even though he was listed as a massive 40-1 long shot. In addition, McClure's model was all over Jon Rahm's (10-1) first career major championship victory at the 2021 U.S. Open. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the weekend, but the model still projected him as the winner.

At the Sony Open in 2022, McClure's model listed Hideki Matsuyama among the top contenders. The reigning Masters champion went out and overcame a five-stroke deficit on the back nine of the final round to notch his eighth career PGA Tour victory.

This same model has also nailed a whopping seven majors entering the weekend! Anyone who has followed it has seen MASSIVE returns!

Now, McClure has set his sights on the 2022 Valero Texas Open and just revealed his optimal head-to-head golf betting picks. They are a must-see for any player looking for an edge in their golf betting strategy.

We can tell you one of McClure's favorite Texas Open head-to-head picks is Abraham Ancer (-110) over Chris Kirk. Ancer has had some struggles in 2022, but he is coming off a fifth place finish at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. The 31-year-old has the talent to compete and win against any field on the PGA Tour schedule when he's at the top of his game. McClure is expecting Ancer, who ranks No. 11 on the PGA Tour in driving accuracy, to surprise some people and contend this week at TPC San Antonio.

McClure is also targeting two additional head-to-head bets that offer huge value. You ABSOLUTELY need to see them before locking in any head-to-head picks of your own.
