Today's picks: Why Yankees will beat Twins, plus more MLB, NFL preseason and MMA picks for Friday, August 20

The crew reviews an eventful Thursday, including a historic comeback from the Angels, and Matt looks at the buzz surrounding Jalen Hurts being a late scratch in the preseason matchup with New England. 

MMA expert Ian Parker swoops in to deliver the SportsLine Play of the Day. He is on Cheick Kongo +110 over Sergei Kharitonov at Bellator 265. While Kharitonov is the better boxer, Kongo is the superior wrestler and that will prove to be the ultimate advantage. 

In MLB, Allie is taking the Braves -0.5 in the first five innings vs. the Orioles at 7:05 p.m.ET. Atlanta is going to tee off on Keegan Akin and the Braves have been very good on the road recently. The skidding will continue for Baltimore. 

Justin is going with the Yankees -1.5 over the Twins at 7:05 p.m. ET. "They have basically dominated the Twins for the last 20 years," he says, and explains why he is taking New York on the runline. "Only one of the last 10 games between these teams have been settled by one run. The Yankees have won 15 of them. These games always seem to go Over, so I'll likely be taking that too. The Yankees are going up against a lefty in Charlie Barnes. They destroy lefties." 

Matt is rolling with the Rockies -190 over the Diamondbacks at 8:40 p.m. ET. Colorado is very good at home and will be even tougher with Austin Gomber on the mound. Arizona's Tyler Gilbert will flame out after his no-hitter. in NFL preseason, Matt is recommending the Jets -2 over the Packers on Saturday at 4:25 p.m. ET. New York actually has the rare advantage at QB. 

Larry's featured MLB prop play is Tampa Bay's Michael Wacha Under 5.5 strikeouts in White Sox-Rays at 7:10 p.m. ET. Wacha has been awful in his last three starts and the White Sox are striking out less over the last week.
