Today's picks: Why the Yankees will beat the Mets, plus more MLB and soccer picks for Tuesday, July 26

The SportsLine crew shares its expert bets for Tuesday, July 26, on The Early Edge podcast

Jonathan Coachman is joined by sports betting experts John Bollman and Jon "Buckets" Eimer on The Early Edge podcast. They give you their best bets for Major League Baseball and soccer for Tuesday, July 26.

Bollman starts us off with a Subway Series pick. He's taking the Yankees on the moneyline to beat the Mets (-125) (7:10 p.m. EST). "[Yankees starter] Jordan Montgomery's been good this season," Bollman says, "But most noticeably, he hasn't been worse on the road... the Mets are only ranked 22nd in wOBA against lefties in July."

Coach likes the other side. He's taking the Mets to win (+105). "I think Taijuan Walker wants to show everyone he's good enough to beat the Yankees," Coach says. "And let's be honest. The Yankees bullpen hasn't been great. They've been sliding by with wins."

Coach then gives the SportsLine play of the day: the Blue Jays -1.5 (-105) against the Cardinals (7:07 p.m. EST). "How do we not take Toronto?" Coach says, referencing the fact that St. Louis will be without stars Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado. "Lay the one-and-a-half and take them at home."

Eimer has four soccer picks. The first is Both Teams To Score (-105) in the AEK Lanarca - Midtjylland Champions League qualifier (11:30 a.m. EST). "Midtjylland are the kings of disappointing everyone," Eimer says. "We're taking them to possibly draw here."

His second pick is Sheriff Tiraspol on the moneyline (-165) vs. NK Maribor (1:00 p.m. EST). "I would've taken this up to -200," he says. "Sheriff is the much better team here."

Pick number three is BTTS in Shamrock Rovers - Ludogorets (-115) (3:00 p.m. EST). "Shamrock has not lost at home since August of last year," Eimer says. "They're going to get a goal here."

Eimer's final pick is Over 2.5 goals in Shkupi Cair - Dinamo Zagreb (-135) (3:00 p.m. EST). "Dinamo Zagreb opened the first leg at -1800 and could not win," he says. "They drew 2-2... They're looking for a strong comeback today."

Bollman takes us back to MLB to take the Royals moneyline (-120) over the Angels (8:10 p.m. EST). "Angel Zerpa has pitched very well," he says. "The Angels have the second-worst wOBA against lefties in July, and as I mentioned they could be without Shohei Ohtani."

Coach has two Cash With Coach plays. First he's taking the Red Sox to beat the Guardians (-140) (7:10 p.m EST). "This is not going to be a pretty game," Coach says. "I'm not suggesting watching it. However, the Red Sox are a better, uglier team than the Guardians."

The second is the Tigers to cover (+1.5, +100) against the Padres (7:10 p.m. EST). "[Mike] Clevinger's on the mound tonight and yes he's a pretty good pitcher," Coach says. "But three of his last five outings, in which he only allowed one run or less? All three against the Arizona Diamondbacks. When he faced Colorado? When he faced Seattle? He gave up four in each game."

Allan Bell wraps things up with The AB Pick 3. First, he's taking Over 7.5 runs in the Braves - Phillies game (+100) (7:05). "These two teams have played eight times this season," Bell says, "And it's 6-2 to the Over."

Next, Bell is picking Cardinals starter Andre Pallante to record Under 15.5 outs tonight against the Blue Jays (-145). "He's made eight starts this season," Bell says, "And he's only made it through six innings or more twice. The Blue Jays are going to get all over him early in this game."

Bell's final play is Over the alternate total of 7.5 runs in the Rangers - Mariners game (-135) (10:10 p.m. EST). "The Rangers are averaging 5.4 runs per game in their last five," Bell says, "and the Mariners are 66 percent to the Over in George Kirby starts."
