Today's picks: Why Oregon State will cover vs. Washington, plus more college football best bets for Friday, Nov. 4

Emory's got all sorts of college football plays, as usual. For Friday's action, he's taking Alcorn State +9.5 vs. Prairie View (7:30 p.m. ET). "Alcorn's run game is outstanding," Emory says. "They have three legit tailbacks." He's also on Oregon State 4.5 vs. Washington (10:30 p.m. ET). He notes that Oregon State is ranked No. 24 and will be incentivized to run up the score to further increase its standing in the AP poll. Emory also likes UConn -15.5 vs. UMass (7:00 p.m ET). "Jim Mora's done a fantastic job," Emory says of the UConn head coach. 

Chip's playing tonight's Oregon State-Washington game too. He's taking Under 54.5 in this one because of the rainy forecast. "Wahsington's offense runs through Michael Penix," he says. "It moves the ball through the air from side to side. How are you gonna hold onto that thing when you've got a river in the sky dumping rain?"

Moving on to Saturday's action, Emory has one pick. He's playing St. Thomas -4.5 vs. Valparaiso (1:00 p.m ET). Emory's fascinated by the Tommies. "They joined Division I last year -- from Division III!" he says. "They were excellent last year, and this year they're domination. They may even win the Pioneer League outright."

Chip has four plays for Saturday and two of them are for Notre Dame vs. Clemson (7:30 p.m. ET). He's taking Clemson -3.5 and Under 44 here. "This is not a Notre Dame offense that is very explosive," Chip says. "They can run the ball pretty well and they've got one of the best tight ends in the country... but with Drew Pyne at quarterback, you're not gonna be able to overcome a big deficit." 

Next, Chip is playing Over 54.5 in Kansas State vs. Texas (7:00 p.m. ET). "Texas has had a full week off to prepare for this game," he says. Chip anticipates a big K-State surge in the second half, as has been the case for many of Texas' road games. 

Finally, Chip's taking Over 54 in NC State vs. Wake Forest (8:00 p.m. ET). "I loved what I love from true freshman quarterback MJ Morris from NC State," he says. "I think that Wake Forest puts up a bunch of points. I think that NC State with the new quarterback is able to move the ball... This game was 45-42 last year."
