Today's picks: A prime Bucks-Suns prop play, plus more NBA Finals and MLB picks for Thursday

SportsLine's experts share their featured bets on the Early Edge podcast for Thursday, July 8

Jonathan Coachman is joined by top sports betting experts Mike McClure, Larry Hartstein and Justin Perri on the Early Edge podcast, powered by SportsLine. Get the best plays for the NBA Finals and MLB for Thursday, July 8.

The Coach tells us when to come back for the live stream later in the day and how to find the upcoming MMA episode, while Larry checks in on the odds for Game 2 of the NBA Finals at 9 p.m. ET and uncovers a very appealing prop play.

The featured SportsLine Play of the Day is the Marlins +1.5 over the Dodgers at 12:10 p.m. ET. Miami has owned the Dodgers this year and is on the verge of pulling off a stunning four-game sweep.

Mike is taking the Dodgers and Marlins to go Under 3.5 runs in the first five innings at +100. This is a very early start time after a night game for a weary team like the Dodgers. The Marlins are also a great matchup for Julio Urias. Mike's favorite NBA prop of the day is Chris Paul Over 21.5 points in Bucks-Suns. "I think this should be 23.5," he says. "He had that big Game 1, and this one should be more competitive, but it's another one at home with the home crowd. If they can find a way to go up 2-0, Chris Paul can all but lock up the MVP of the series, and we know that's incredibly important to him in what is likely his only trip to the NBA Finals in his career."

Justin serves up a trio of MLB picks, leading with the Twins and Tigers over 9.5 at 8:10 p.m. ET. The Twins cannot limit runs, but they also score often against divisional opponents. He is also on the Blue Jays -1.5 over the Orioles at 7:05 p.m. ET. Keegan Akin and Alek Manoah are headed in different statistical directions. Justin finishes with the Rockies and Diamondbacks Over 9.5 runs at 3:40 p.m. ET. Chi Chi Gonzalez can be a good pitcher to target on the road regardless of opponent.

Larry is also going against Keegan Akin, taking him at Under 4.5 strikeouts. Akin's strikeout rate has dipped this year and he has rarely been able to go over the projected number recently.
