SportsLine's projection model generated selections for Wednesday's matchup between the TCU Horned Frogs and the Texas Longhorns

The Texas Longhorns welcome the TCU Horned Frogs to Austin for a Big 12 battle at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday. Texas is favored by 9.5-points at Caesars Sportsbook, while the Over-Under is set at 126.5 (see up-to-date odds for every game this week on our college basketball odds page). Before making any TCU vs. Texas picks, you NEED to check out the college basketball predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every Division I college basketball game 10,000 times. Over the past five-plus years, the proprietary computer model has generated an impressive profit of almost $2,000 for $100 players on its top-rated college basketball picks against the spread. Anyone who has followed it has seen HUGE returns.

The model knows TCU has a potent defense, but the Horned Frogs are also very good in key offensive areas. TCU leads the country in offensive rebounding, securing 38.9 percent of missed shots. The Horned Frogs also lead the Big 12 in assist percentage this season, producing an assist on more than 58 percent of field goals. TCU is above-average in two-point accuracy, making 50.5 percent of attempts, and the Horned Frogs are above-average in free throw creation rate. Texas has the worst free throw prevention mark in the Big 12 on defense, and the Longhorns are below-average on the defensive glass with a 70.2 percent defensive rebound rate.

The model also knows the Longhorns are fantastic on defense. Texas ranks in the top ten of the country in adjusted defensive efficiency, including an elite mark in turnover creation. The Longhorns force a turnover on 24.2 percent of defensive possessions, and Texas has a tremendous 12.7 percent steal rate. Opponents are shooting only 30.1 percent from three-point range and 46.6 percent from two-point range against Texas, and TCU has a couple of glaring offensive issues. The Horned Frogs rank dead-last in the Big 12 in turnover rate and free throw accuracy, and TCU is shooting just 29.5 percent from three-point distance this season.

Now, it has set its sights on TCU vs. Texas. We can tell you the model is leaning over the total, and it also says one side of the spread hits in almost 60 percent of simulations! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any college basketball picks.
