Rams vs. Bengals Super Bowl 56 trends, odds: Bettors extremely optimistic on Rams' Cooper Kupp, Odell Beckham, not Cam Akers

Bettors at Caesars Sportsbook expect the top two Rams receivers to have big games in Super Bowl 56.

During the regular season, the Cincinnati Bengals had the No. 5 rush defense in the NFL in allowing 102.5 yards per game. Thus, it could be tough for the Los Angeles Rams to run on that unit in Super Bowl 56 on Sunday. Perhaps that helps explain why bettors at Caesars Sportsbook are hammering Over yardage total props for Los Angeles receivers Cooper Kupp and Odell Beckham Jr. but heavily leaning Under rushing yards for Cam Akers. The Rams have dropped temporarily from -4.5 to -4 at the book.

Kupp is set at Over/Under 106.5 receiving yards, which is about unheard for a Super Bowl but he's had a historic season and has set an NFL single-season record with 2,333 receiving yards including playoffs. That averages out to 116.7 yards per game. A whopping 96 percent of money on that yardage prop is on the Over at Caesars and 85 percent of tickets. There has been so much action on the Over that the total has risen to that current 106.5 number from an open of 102.5.

Kupp's longest reception is set at 28.5 yards, and 99 percent of money and 98 percent of tickets are on that Over. He has had at least a 29-yard catch in two of three playoff games.

"It's not a surprise his Overs have been this popular, [Kupp] puts up big numbers seemingly every game," said Adam Pullen, Assistant Director of Trading at Caesars Sportsbook. "It's rare to see a prop in the triple digits, but he's mandated it. I think his player props are going to get the most action besides the quarterbacks. Since his overs are going to be one of the more popular bets for the public, the sharps will just sit and wait to see how high it gets before jumping in later."

The lean is equally pronounced on Beckham Jr., who is set at O/U 63.5 yards with 95 percent of money and 94 percent of tickets on the Over. He has topped that number in the past two games, setting his Rams high with 113 yards in the NFC title game. Beckham's Over/Under catches is 5.5, and that's taking Over on 96 percent of tickets and 85 percent of money.

"A few years ago, he was the most popular receiver there was," Pullen said. "He wasn't as involved as much with the Rams to start, but as time went on, his production has increased. He's not Kupp, but he's been the second choice. He's gotten more over money for receptions and receiving yards, and he's also gotten a lot for first touchdown scorer. For the first few playoff games, he was one of the most popularly backed players for first touchdown scorer too."

Akers injured his shoulder in the NFC title game – he missed nearly the entire regular season with an Achilles injury – but will play Sunday. His rushing yardage prop has increased from 58.5 to 63.5 even though 68 percent of the money and 65 percent of tickets are on Under. Akers' best rushing game this season has been 55 yards vs. Arizona in the Wild-Card Round.
