If you ever needed a reason to watch a Low Class-A Columbia Fireflies baseball game, we have two words for you.

    Tim Tebow.

Firefly fever running rampant thanks to Tebow. But it's not like the former Denver Broncos and Florida Gators quarterback is lighting up the minor leagues.

Tebow is hitting .230 with 28 hits and three home runs in 35 games.

Regardless of his uninspiring stats, CBS Sports' Mike Axisa says Tebow could find his way to the big leagues this season with the Mets.

"If the Mets are out of the race, a late-season Tebow call-up would give an otherwise uninteresting team some juice, and also benefit the club financially," Axisa wrote. "Tebow wouldn't have to be up for all of September, of course. They could call him up for the final homestand or something like that."

Tebow could literally be called up... for fun. It would arguably be the craziest thing ever to happen to the Heisman Trophy winner.

Regardless of reports, BookMaker.eu isn't a believer. The market-setting offshore book released odds on whether Tebow will play a game in the majors this season.

He's a +15,000 underdog, or 150/1, to play in the big leagues before the final regular-season pitch is thrown. You'd risk $100 to win $15,000.

Tebow is -30,000 to stay in the minors, meaning you'd have to wager $30,000 just to win $100.

    No joke.

If you need a reason to bet with 150/1 odds, here it is.

According to Baseball America, "The Tebow effect appears to be roughly 2,210 fans per night. Minor-league teams estimate that the average fan will spend $20 per person if they come to the ballpark. That counts ticket sales, concessions and souvenirs. So Tebow is worth roughly an additional $44,200 per night."

The Mets currently are 18-24, third in the NL East.
