NFL Week 17 power ratings for against the spread picks: What each Week 17 line should be, and where there's value
Get the edge over the sportsbooks in Week 17 and beyond by developing a power rating system to stay ahead of the lines
The Buffalo Bills have been one of the most inconsistent teams in the league this year, but those who banked on the good Bills showing up in the divisional rematch against the Patriots were rewarded handsomely. I had dipped the Bills' power rating below the second tier of teams behind the Chiefs into the range of the 49ers and Bengals, and as such the power ratings system had identified a lot of going against Buffalo on a weekly basis, but it seems like it's time to jump them back up into that second tier among teams like the Packers and Bucs, right?
The Bills shouldn't have too much trouble with the rest of their regular season schedule, so the next test will likely come on Wild Card Weekend, seemingly with a home game against a team like the Colts or Patriots. How fun would a third Bills-Patriots be, provided the weather gods don't make throwing the ball impossible again?
I still have the Chiefs well above the pack as my No. 1 power rated team, but I've edged one of the second-tier teams ahead of the others into No. 2. Spoiler alert: it's not the Bills.
