NFL Week 12 Vegas contest picks: Top spread selections from Las Vegas contest expert

The first Sunday of the four-week gauntlet that wraps up the month of November in Circa Survivor went by with very little damage done. Only 61 of 1,000 remaining entries were eliminated in Circa Survivor in Week 11, most of which were done in by the Atlanta Falcons falling at home to the Carolina Panthers. Not a single entry was eliminated in Circa Grandissimo or in the $5K SuperSurvivor at Westgate, which have six and eight entries remaining, respectively.

Through 11 weeks, availability becomes such a crucial factor in Survivor. When looking at the big favorites, I have to believe that the 49ers will be a popular Circa Survivor selection this week as 7-point favorites over the Panthers on Monday Night Football. Over 95% of the remaining entries still have San Francisco available. 

Quite a few participants still have the Ravens, Chiefs, Lions, Eagles, and Bears available, but each of these teams play on Thanksgiving Week, which is a separate week in Circa Survivor. The Green Bay Packers play on Thanksgiving and are a good-sized favorite this week at home, but only 13% of the live entries still have the Pack available. One must pick a winner next Thursday or on the Friday game and then choose yet another winner that Sunday or on Monday when the Giants visit New England. 

It's two weeks in one, really, and that is why this four-week stretch is such a sweat. For the first 10-11 weeks of the contest, one is not only trying to advance each week but also to save teams for this time of the year. Nearly 30% of the remaining Circa Survivor entries have the Seattle Seahawks available, and they too could be a popular play as one of the very biggest favorites on the board on the road at Tennessee – and Seattle does not figure into the Thanksgiving schedule.

And if you are still alive come December, we'll do it all over again for Christmas Week. At the end of the Thanksgiving gauntlet last year, only 54 entries were still standing in Circa Survivor. In the end, five entries made it successfully through all 20 weeks, split the multi-million dollar prize, and wrote their names on a page of Las Vegas sports betting history.

It was yet another below-average week for the top-five consensus picks in both the Westgate SuperContest and in Circa Sports Million as both went 2-3 ATS and are now a combined 44-65-1 (40%) on the season. We had a good week on the Las Vegas Football Contest Show (www.FootballContestShow.com) with a 4-1 mark in both. With seven weeks left in the regular season and in contest play, we are a game above .500 in the SuperContest and three games above .500 at 29-26 in Circa Sports Million. We will not likely win either of these contests overall but could certainly still find ourselves in the hunt for many of the seven remaining mini-contests yet to be decided.
