Discriminate readers may have detected a pattern in our over/under picks with teasers. Drawing interest without fail are games with totals in the low 40s and in the mid-50s. Subtract six points from a low-40s total, and the game winds up in the 30s. Add six points to a mid-50s total, and the game lands in the low 60s. Given that the bulk of NFL games produce points in the 40s and 50s, the appeal of such outliers is valid.

For Week 10, we bit on an Over that fits the formula. And while the 61-point total for Atlanta versus Dallas was tempting, we opted for an Under in a game with special circumstances.

Totals teaser: Saints-Titans Over 38, Seahawks-Packers Under 55.5

Derrick Henry -- who needs him? Well, the Titans will eventually in their quest for a Super Bowl, but they put up 28 points without the injured RB last Sunday. Only one Tennessee game has wound up with fewer than 41 points tallied. Similarly, the Saints staged a 52-point game without QB Jameis Winston, and the previous one went for 63 points with Trevor Siemian called out of the bullpen.

This might be Russell Wilson versus Aaron Rodgers in a duel of eventual Hall of Fame QBs, but the backdrop is abnormal. Wilson's return from a three-week hiatus after finger surgery is anticipated, but he could be impaired by rust and a possible protective glove on his hand. Rodgers, sacked by COVID-19, may not play at all. The earliest he would be eligible is Saturday, which would mean over a week without practice. Neither team can relay on its middling rushing game.
