NFL Futures bets, predictions, player props: Proven football expert reveals top picks to lead league in passing yards in 2025

SportsLine expert Jimmie Kaylor reveals his top NFL prop bets and his picks to lead the NFL in passing yards in 2025

ByPublished: Aug 27, 2025 4:13PM UTC . 4 min read

The quarterback position in the NFL is widely considered to be the most important position in professional sports. Only a handful of teams have quarterbacks that are capable of consistently single-handedly altering the outcome of games. In 2024, six players totaled 4,000 or more passing yards, with Joe Burrow (4,918) and Jared Goff (4,629) leading the way. With the NFL season rapidly approaching, DraftKings Sportsbook has released its NFL futures odds for who will lead the NFL in passing yards in 2025.

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is the +500 (risk $100 to win $500) betting favorite, followed by Dak Prescott (+850), Patrick Mahomes (+900) and Jared Goff (+1200). Mahomes' over/under for total passing yards in the regular season is 4,050.5, while Burrow's over/under for passing touchdowns is 33.5.

SportsLine expert Jimmie Kaylor has broken down the latest NFL odds and just locked in his top picks to lead the NFL in passing yards in 2025. You'll want to see who Kaylor is backing before making any NFL futures picks of your own.

Kaylor is a DFS and betting expert for SportsLine, who won a DraftKings Millionaire Maker contest in 2022. He uses a combination of his background as a former college and NFL football player and his keen eye for statistical trends when making his picks and locking in his DFS lineups. Kaylor enters the 2024 calendar year with multiple five-figure tournament cashes on his DFS resume, and has been profitable across multiple sports since joining SportsLine as an expert handicapper.

Here are Kaylor's top three picks to lead the NFL in passing yards in 2025. All odds via DraftKings Sportsbook.

Joe Burrow (+500)

Burrow will likely be the chalk here, and as of now is the biggest liability at multiple sportsbooks. That said, I am jumping on this number while it's still this high. Barring injury, Burrow, who has the top wide receiver duo in the league at his disposal, is highly likely to finish well over 4,000 passing yards again in 2025. The Bengals rely heavily on their passing attack to move the ball, and I fully expect Burrow to be near the league lead in passing attempts for the second straight season.

Jared Goff (+1100)

The Lions have a strong running game, which knocks Goff's value here. Regardless, Detroit has arguably the most explosive offense in the NFL, and Goff has proven to be an excellent facilitator. Goff finished second to Burrow in passing yards a year ago, and I expect him to push for this title again in 2025.

Kyler Murray (+5000)

This is my longshot here. I also considered Tua Tagovailoa, but at 50-1, Murray is worth consideration. The former No. 1 overall pick has a solid group of pass catchers at his disposal, and I expect the Cardinals to be playing from behind frequently, opening the door for more attempts for Murray. There are some health concerns here as well, but this is a very solid sleeper play if you're looking for a longshot.
