The chance of hitting a three-team parlay is one in eight. Our weekly trio of lookahead picks is not recommended as a parlay but as separate bets, yet the odds are the same for all three spreads moving in a favorable direction between the week before and week during the games.

Our latest one-in-eight odds cashed — figuratively speaking, since the games have not been staged. The three picks from last week have yet to win but now carry lines that are less attractive than before.

On a pair of Sunday encounters, we snared Atlanta vs. Miami and San Francisco vs. Philadelphia before the spreads drifted up to the current -2.5. We had expected the Jets to bumble and stumble against the Dolphins, and they came through. The Falcons' win over New Orleans also helped bump up the line by a point.

We speculated the public would notice this week that Philly is completing a three-game gauntlet of stiff opposition against the 49ers. Though the Eagles are off to an impressive 2-0 start in that stretch they are now underdogs by more than the lookahead number.

We counted on the Bengals struggling against Pittsburgh with first-time starter Jake Browning at quarterback. Sure enough, Cincinnati managed a measly 10 points, which contributed to the lookahead line of -7 versus Jacksonville getting hiked to -8.5.
