As a Vegas bookmaker, Micah Roberts was the first to offer expanded NASCAR betting. Now he hands out NASCAR winners to his followers.
Roberts called Kevin Harvick's win at Kansas Speedway this season, and at Bristol Motor Speedway, Roberts said Kyle Busch "owns this track" and would win there for the seventh time. The result? Busch came from behind and crossed the finish line .63 seconds ahead of Kyle Larson.
Earlier at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Roberts told SportsLine readers to jump on Harvick, who had the same 9/2 odds as Martin Truex Jr. and Larson. Harvick dominated. Roberts then was all over Harvick at Las Vegas as Harvick delivered another lopsided win. Roberts also was very high on Clint Bowyer in the STP 500 -- and Bowyer promptly snapped his 190-race winless streak there.
Roberts' uncanny picks come as no surprise. In the 2017 NASCAR playoffs, Roberts picked nine of the 10 winners. In 2016, he backed Denny Hamlin (15/1) at the Daytona 500 and took him again at 40/1 at Watkins Glen later that year. Two more victories with epic payouts.
Now Roberts has analyzed Saturday's Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway (7 p.m. ET) and released his top 20 finishers in order. We can tell you he's not picking Bowyer or Chase Elliott. Each is posted at 10/1 odds, second-best in the field, but Roberts doesn't have either finishing in the top 15.
Instead, Roberts is backing a driver with success at this track and in restrictor-plate races. He also has a pair of monumental longshots going deep, including a massive 100-1 underdog. Anyone who backs him could be in for a life-changing payout.
