Rating teams each week and making adjustments to their power ratings isn't anything like you see in media polls. In my weekly column identifying the Top 10 teams, I'll explain why I made an adjustment as well as break down significant games for each team that week.

    1. Alabama (99, LW 99): Alabama showed us again why it is the best team in the country. I think the current 28.5-point spread is lined correctly, but I expect a lot of people will be looking to back Mississippi State because the Crimson Tide are off of their big win over LSU. I want to remind those people that the Bulldogs are coming off an upset win over No. 4 Texas A&M themselves. If anything I think the potential hangover here will be on Mississippi State.

    2. Ohio State (94, LW 94): Ohio State finally looked like the Buckeyes team we saw regularly earlier this season. It helped that Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. was injured early on, but it ultimately wouldn't have made much of a difference considering Ohio State scored 62 points. I expect Urban Meyer and company to take care of business in Week 11 at Maryland before they face off against the Michigans to end their regular season.

    3. Louisville (94, LW 94): The Cardinals smashed Boston College 52-7 and Lamar Jackson solidified his spot (again) as the Heisman favorite. Unfortunately it's likely all they can win this year. Barring losses by Clemson or Washington going forward, the playoff outlook for Louisville is dim. 'Ville is favored by five touchdowns this Saturday, which is about right from a power ratings perspective. But the Cards do have a road game at Houston the following Thursday on a short week so I wouldn't be surprised at all if Wake covers the 35.

    4. Clemson (92, LW 92): Clemson had no problem taking care of Syracuse this past Saturday after Orange starting quarterback Eric Dungey went out with an injury early. The Tigers are on a mission and playing some of their best football in November. I think the 21 this week against Pitt is a little high, but unless this gets to 24+ I won't be backing the Panthers.

    5. Michigan (92, LW 92): At this point everyone is just waiting for Michigan's showdown in Columbus against the Buckeyes. The Wolverines face an Iowa team that has struggled all season and I would be shocked if the Wolverines had any hiccup here. Nov. 26 is for a spot in the College Football Playoff.

    6. Washington (91.5, LW 90.5): Washington put a beatdown on Cal and continues to climb in my power ratings. I will be breaking down the Huskies' matchup against the Trojans in a separate article, but this USC team is far and away Washington's toughest test yet. We will be learning a lot about Chris Petersen's squad this Saturday.

    7. LSU (89, LW 89): LSU played Alabama about as well as anyone can. The Tigers didn't score. It’s weird to say but I thought they played a fantastic game. The letdown spot going on the road to play Arkansas will be a popular fade, but I want to remind you that Arky has the worst defense against the run in the entire country. I'd stay away from the side and look at playing the Over 45.5.

    8. Oklahoma (88.5, LW 88.5): Oklahoma got the win at Iowa State but it wasn't a breeze. The home matchup with a Baylor team falling off the face of the planet should be an easier game for the Sooners. I won't be laying 16 points despite fading the Bears each of the last two weeks, but I do think 81 total points is too many.

    9. USC (88, LW NR): USC jumps up into my Top 10 and deservedly so. Not only are the Trojans getting pounded every week in the market, but they're also covering all of the spreads. The Trojans are a really talented football team, and the best that Washington will have seen this season. My numbers line this 7.5 so I don't think there is too much value now, but if this reaches double-digits then I'll have some interest in USC.

    10. Auburn (87, LW NR): Auburn is another newbie to my Top 10 this week. This is likely surprising considering the Tigers struggled to beat Vanderbilt at home as massive favorites, but I remind you every week not to fall victim to the one-game sample size. This Tigers team has been really good before last week's hiccup, and with the loss of quarterback Trevor Knight for the season for Texas A&M, Auburn got the bump up to No. 10 this week after the Aggies' power rating was drastically downgraded.
