MLB parlay picks for June 24: SportsLine expert offers his picks, predictions for Tuesday's games

Last week, these parlays netted us a gain of +3.06 units by hitting a big one last Thursday. This week, hopefully we can make even more impressive gains. With a full 15 game slate on the horizon for tonight, I'm going to start by fading the best pitcher in baseball. Don't get me wrong, if you want to bet Tarik Skubal to win his second consecutive Cy Young, by all means (at -300 odds). But that doesn't mean the powerful Athletics lineup won't give him some trouble tonight...

Tarik Skubal Over 4.5 Hits Allowed + Brent Rooker 1+ Hits

Last year, as he was making his run to the Cy Young Award in the American League, Tarik Skubal surrendered nine hits in 5.2 innings pitched against the Athletics in September. The A's have the eighth best average against left-handed pitching this season, not to mention that Skubal has exceeded this hits total given up in 7 of 15 games this season including 2 of his last 3 starts. Brent Rooker has at least one hit in 9 of his last 12 games and is 6 of 14 lifetime (.429 average) vs. Skubal. Don't be surprised if Oakland keeps this one close tonight, though I don't trust their starter Luis Severino very much.
