MLB parlay picks for July 8: SportsLine expert offers his picks, predictions for Tuesday's games

Don't get me wrong, hitting a four leg baseball parlay is far from easy. Heck, I'm probably well above .500 with the picks I've given out in this column individually over the last three weeks but it's been a while since I've hit one of these. My latest loss was due to Cubs All-Star outfielder Kyle Tucker failing to do anything while his team scored 11 on Friday. But it's a new week and I have to get back on the board before the All-Star Break. Here goes nothing...!

Jack Flaherty 2+ Earned Runs Allowed + Chandler Simpson 1+ Hits

The Tigers are really good but Flaherty hasn't been all that great after being paid $25 million for this year in the offseason. He's 5-9 with a 4.84 ERA and has surrendered 21 earned runs combined in his last four outings. Tampa Bay's potent offense will get at least two off him on Tuesday night and that's being conservative. Meanwhile, Simpson has an 11 game hit streak since being recalled from AAA and should be moved towards the top of the Rays lineup sooner than later. Regardless, I believe he'll reach base against Flaherty via hit and I wouldn't be surprised if he stole his 25th base of the year.
