Masters champion, world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler not favored on golf odds to win PGA Championship, US Open or British Open

Despite a dominant season thus far, Masters champion Scottie Scheffler is not favored to win any of the other three Grand Slam tournaments this year.

Entering February, 25-year-old American Scottie Scheffler was winless on the PGA Tour. Following Sunday's dominant victory at the Masters, the world's top-ranked player has four victories; he has earned his first four wins in the shortest span in Tour history (only 57 days). Despite this, Scheffler is not favored to win the PGA Championship, US Open or British Open this year – Jon Rahm is the betting favorite for the final three Grand Slam events of the year.

On Sunday, Scheffler joined Jordan Spieth (2015) and Tiger Woods (2001 & 1997) as the only players age 25 or younger to win the Masters over the last 40 years and became the first player since Arnold Palmer in 1960 to earn his fourth win of the season at the Masters. We don't want to say that the PGA Tour Player of the Year race is already over in mid-April, but it might be. Scheffler is not playing this week's Tour event, the RBC Heritage in Hilton Head, S.C.

Scheffler has been so dominant that if he is paying caddie Ted Scott the standard 10 percent of his purses, Scott would be around 70th on the PGA Tour money list – Scheffler has earned $10,098,014. Sunday was the third Masters win with Scott on a bag – he was twice with Bubba Watson. Five is the most victories for a caddie at Augusta, led by legend Willie "Pappy" Stokes. Scheffler was the fifth golfer to enter Augusta National ranked No. 1 in the world and go on to win the Masters, joining Ian Woosnam (1991), Fred Couples (1992), Tiger (2001-02) and Dustin Johnson (2020).

Scheffler is a +1200 second favorite at Caesars Sportsbook on the odds to win the PGA Championship and the same for the US Open but +1400 third favorite for the British Open.

The PGA is next up from May 19-22 at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa. Southern Hills has hosted the PGA four times – last in 2007 when Tiger won -- and US Open three. Woods has not said for sure whether he will play this year. Phil Mickelson is the defending champion and it's not clear if he will play, either, as he has taken a break from golf and missed the Masters.

The US Open is June 16-19 at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass., and Rahm is the defending champion of that tournament and +1000 to repeat. The British Open is July 14-17 at St Andrews in Scotland – Tiger has committed to that tournament already. Collin Morikawa is the defending champion.
