Jason La Canfora's 2023 NFL Week 13 picks: Texans vs. Broncos among insider's best bets

It's increasingly important to start looking at these numbers by Monday evening.

There are so few good teams and we're at a portion of the schedule that is something of a dead zone. It's after the Thanksgiving rush, some decent teams are still on byes, and a lot of the best divisional games are in the final few weeks of the season. The inventory isn't great and the money seems to focus on a handful of games, and therefore those lines and totals can move pretty quickly.

Two games I would normally suggest here have already shifted exponentially. On Monday we grabbed the Cowboys -7 and urged others to do that same. Now, midweek, Dallas has already gone as high as 9.5 before settling at 9. I don't love that nearly as much as some props in that game at this point, but if you are leaning Dallas still, I wouldn't wait until Thursday because I could see this pushing to 10 by kickoff.

And while the Monday night game might seem a ways off, we all know that by Sunday afternoon this will be everyone's focus and these numbers have already gone crazy. We played the Under on Monday at 41, and came awfully close to taking the Jaguars -7 as well before talking ourselves out of it. I wanted to do more work on it but should have parlayed it them, because now those numbers are long gone. It's at 8.5 and 38 as of this writing, with the over/under hitting as low as 37.5 along the way.

There's plenty of other stuff catching my eye at midweek.
