How to bet on Jon Rahm at the 2021 British Open: DFS pro reveals prop bet pick that pays +350
Rahm is currently the betting favorite to win at Royal St. George's
2021 has been a year for the ages for Jon Rahm. Aside from the positive COVID-19 test that caused him to withdraw from The Memorial, a tournament he was leading comfortably, in early June, the Spaniard has had basically nothing but success in 2021. In 14 starts (counting his W/D that cost him a win at The Memorial), Rahm has posted nine top-10's and won his first major championship at the U.S. Open. He and his wife also welcomed their first child just days before the 2021 Masters. And now, Rahm is the heavy betting favorite at +700 (risk $100 to win $700) to win the 2021 Open Championship in the latest British Open odds from William Hill Sportsbook.
As expected, the Open Championship field will feature the best of the best golfers in the world. Yet Rahm is currently the only golfer with single digit betting odds to win the tournament making him a questionable value on the British Open futures market. If Rahm's 7-1 odds to win against a loaded British Open field don't entice you, there are also plenty of Open Championship prop bets available from William Hill that will allow you to put your money behind Rahm in other ways.
SportsLine's Mike McClure who has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed play last June has a British Open prop bet pick that you'll want to see before play begins on Thursday, July 15.Â
At the 2021 U.S. Open, McClure's proprietary computer model was all over Rahm's first career major championship victory at 10-1 from the start. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the weekend, but the model still projected him as the winner. And at the 2021 Masters, McClure nailed Rahm's (+250) top-five finish in his best bets, as well as Corey Conners' (+550) top-10 showing. McClure's best bets netted over $450 at the Masters.
In addition, McClure was all over Daniel Berger's win at +1400 in his best bets at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February. McClure also nailed Viktor Hovland's (+2500) victory in the Mayakoba Golf Classic in December. That was one of many huge calls he's made in the past several months.
This same model has also nailed a whopping seven majors entering the weekend! Anyone who has followed it has seen MASSIVE returns!
Top European pick
Rahm may the world No. 1, but there are several other Europeans in the British Open field who are more than capable of contending at Royal St. George's. Of the top-10 contenders in the British Open 2021 odds, four are Europeans -- Rahm, Rory McIlroy, Tyrell Hatton, and Viktor Hovland. All four are a serious threat to walk away with top European honors at the final major championship of 2021 as well.Â
Rahm is listed as the betting favorite at +350 in the top European prop bet odds, with McIlroy (+750), Hovland (+1100), and Hatton (+1200) trailing him.Â
Other threats to take home Top European honors at the 2021 Open Championship include defending champion Shane Lowry (+1200), Matthew Fitzpatrick (+1200), and Paul Casey (+1200). 2018 British Open champion Francesco Molinari is listed at +5500 in the top European odds and +125000 in the overall British Open odds.
Pick: Rahm +350
