Heat vs. Wizards Monday NBA injury report, spread, odds: Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro in question; Bradley Beal, Daniel Gafford out

A pair of NBA stars may miss Monday's Heat at Wizards game.

The Miami Heat find themselves atop the NBA's Eastern Conference – which means that Erik Spoelstra will coach Team Kevin Durant in the All-Star Game – but could be without All-Star Jimmy Butler and Sixth Man of the Year favorite Tyler Herro tonight at Washington, which won't have its best player in Bradley Beal. The Heat are 6-point favorites at Caesars Sportsbook but that would drop a few points if Butler and Herro are out.

Butler was listed as questionable for Saturday's game vs. Charlotte with a toe injury but played through it and finished with 27 points, six rebounds and four assists in 27 minutes. He's also listed questionable for this one. Butler is having a great season, averaging 21.9 points, 6.3 rebounds and 6.3 assists but has been limited to 35 games due to injury/protocols.

Herro also played Saturday and had 19 points in 29 minutes off the bench but is dealing with right knee soreness. Herro is averaging 20.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.0 assists and is a mammoth -1100 favorite to win Sixth Man of the Year. Herro has scored a team-leading 905 points this season, already surpassing his previous single-season high of 815 in 2020-21. His 19 20-point games off the bench are already the most for a season in team history. Miami is also listing Caleb Martin and Max Strus as questionable.

Washington was a pleasant early-season surprise but has really fallen off of late in losing seven of eight to fall outside the Eastern Conference play-in tournament field. Beal has been out since Jan. 29 with a wrist injury as trade rumors circulate. He's averaging 23.2 points, 6.6 assists and 4.7 rebounds. Center Daniel Gafford (8.9 ppg, 6.0 rpg) was placed in the NBA's health and safety protocols Sunday and has been ruled out for Monday's game.

This wraps up the season series between the teams with Miami leading 2-1, but the Heat did lose their lone trip to DC, 103-100 on Nov. 20. It's the fifth game of a of a season-long six-game, 11-day road trip for the Heat.
