Friday, July 28 MLB odds, props, trends: Bettors optimistic on Pirates' Mitch Keller, Royals' Brady Singer
Here are the most-wagered MLB props Friday at DraftKings.

Aaron Judge is expected back from the injured list and Gerrit Cole is on the mound for the Yankees at the Orioles in arguably the most-hyped game of Friday in MLB. It's the most-wagered game by handle on the slate at DraftKings, but Judge and Cole are not among the five most wagered-on players on the board. Instead, the top three belong to a pair of pitchers on bad teams: Pittsburgh's Mitch Keller and Kansas City's Brady Singer.
It's early in the day and certainly the numbers will change, but this writer is flabbergasted Judge isn't No. 1 on this list. He's generally the second-most popular player to bet on game-by-game with Shohei Ohtani (who isn't on the list, either).
For now, though, it's the Pirates' All-Star Keller taking surprising action against the visiting and surging Philadelphia Phillies: Keller Over 17.5 outs recorded (-120) is No. 1 on the entire board at DK, and the right-hander Over 5.5 strikeouts (-110) is No. 2.
Keller (9-6, 4.01 ERA) deserved to be his team's lone All-Star but gave up a run in his inning pitched in the Midsummer Classic. Since then, Keller has surrendered 14 runs on 19 hits in two starts spanning 11 innings, both blowout losses. He has been a lot better at home (5-2, 3.61) so maybe that explains why there's such optimism. Keller has 137 strikeouts in his 21 starts, an average of 6.5. Over 17.5 outs hitting would require six innings from Keller. He was pulled after five Sunday but has reached six innings in 15 of his 21 outings.
Pittsburgh isn't going anywhere this season and there's talk it may even trade Keller, but that it would take a huge haul. The Pirates did just ship out first baseman/DH Carlos Santana to Milwaukee.
Kansas City's Singer was terrific in 2022 but has regressed big time this year. He's 6-8 with 5.55 ERA and 90 strikeouts in 108.2 innings. The right-hander has been better lately, allowing two or fewer runs in three of his last five starts. Singer Over 17.5 outs recorded (-13) vs. the visiting Minnesota Twins is the No. 2 prop on the MLB board.
His lone start against Minnesota this year was on April 30 in the Twin Cities. Singer was hammered for eight runs in just 2.2 innings. He has finished at least six innings in five of his past six starts and does have significantly better (if still not good) numbers at home.
Tonight's other popular MLB player props at DraftKings:
Giants' Logan Webb Over 17.5 outs recorded (-185) vs. Red Sox: Webb hasn't faced Boston this year and has failed to complete six innings just three times in 2023.
Blue Jays' Kevin Gausman Over 7.5 strikeouts (-150) vs. Angels: Gausman is second in the majors with 162 strikeouts (8.1 per game) and hasn't faced Los Angeles this season.
