Dynasty Fantasy Football: Why analytics say Kyle Pitts and Drake London still have sky-high ceilings

Kyle Pitts was one of Fantasy's biggest disappointments in 2022, while Drake London finished 31st at the WR position in PPR scoring. Fantasy expert Jacob Gibbs explains why he's still all-in on the Falcons duo.

Their production has been modest thus far, yet Drake London and Kyle Pitts remain two of the most-coveted young players in Dynasty leagues as we enter the 2023 NFL season. How highly does their early-career per-route data suggest the young Falcons could fly in a healthier offensive environment?

If only evaluating the potential top to each player's perceivable range of outcomes -- so, if asked which player has the "most upside" -- I would choose Drake London over both Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson after what we saw in 2022. London's per-route data is that good. Wilson and Olave did not exist in a historically run-heavy offensive environment ruled by Marcus Mariota, so they finished with notably better baseline rookie stats.

London played all 17 games and only ran 415 routes. For reference, Olave recorded more routes run in just 15 games played. Wilson ran 595 routes! Of course he had better stats, he had 43% more opportunities than London did!

    Garrett Wilson (WR - NYJ)17215.7 1103 4
    Chris Olave (WR - NO)15198.2 1042 4
    Drake London (WR - ATL)17178.6 866 4

Will London's opportunity change significantly with Desmond Ridder running Arthur Smith's offense? Last year's Falcons offense was truly a once-in-a-decade kind of outlier in terms of deviation from the mean. So, yes, London will probably get more chances. It is important to remember, though, that Arthur Smith still runs the show.

This article is about much more than just London's 2023 outlook, though. I'm here to help contextualize his rookie season and help you to understand just how high the upside is for London moving forward.

Oh yeah, and we're also here to talk about Kyle Pitts. We can't forget to do that.
