It took Curtis Samuel longer to become a playmaker than Carolina might have envisioned when the Panthers used the 40th overall pick on him in the 2017 draft, but his 1,000-scrimmage-yard output in 2020 was enough to land him a big contract from the Washington Football Team. Samuel will be reunited with head coach Ron Rivera and offensive coordinator Scott Turner, and he should have less competition for targets than he did in Carolina.
Samuel is a clear top-40 wide receiver pick for season-long draft purposes, but just how high should he be ranked at the position in Dynasty leagues with long-term uncertainty at the QB position in Washington?
Gibbs provides a data-driven deep dive to answer that question and address anything that stood out from his advanced statistical profile. These player profiles are just a small part of the advanced analytical prep Gibbs is providing for SportsLine users heading into the 2021 Fantasy football season -- if you want an easy way to keep up with all of the information that will be published this spring and summer, this Advanced Fantasy Football Stat Guide will be updated with links to each article as they go live.
