The Phoenix Suns secured a 1-0 lead in the 2021 NBA Finals by topping the Milwaukee Bucks 118-105 in Game 1 of the championship series on Tuesday and will look to go up 2-0 at home in Game 2 on Thursday. The Suns are five-point favorites at William Hill Sportsbook ahead of Game 2's 9 p.m. ET tip-off, and the Over/Under is set at 220.5. Can Milwaukee bounce back and steal a game on the road now that Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee) is healthy enough to carry a heavy workload, or will Chris Paul continue to power Phoenix on its way to its first-ever NBA title? Let's take a look at some of the best bets for the game.
SportsLine NBA expert Ameer Tyree has analyzed the Bucks vs. Suns Game 2 lines and has several plays he loves on the spread, total and props. One spot where he sees a clear edge for bettors: the Under.
"Both teams shot under 47% from the field in Game 1, and the free-throw disparity played a huge role in the Suns pulling away to secure a double-digit win. Milwaukee is often able to win the free-throw battle because of Antetokounmpo's physicality as a scorer and versatility as a rim protector, but he wasn't as much of a threat as usual in Game 1," Tyree told SportsLine. "While Antetokounmpo isn't at 100%, I doubt Phoenix can make 16 more free throws than the road team to push for the Over again."
Tyree also backs three player props from the game, including two that would pay out plus odds if they come in. You can find below which player he expects to act as Milwaukee's "secondary playmaker" while cashing on his Over assist prop, who's in a good spot to capitalize on small ball, and which player is a sneaky double-double threat.
