Bucks vs. Pistons Tuesday NBA injury report, spread, odds: Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday, Brook Lopez out; Giannis Antetokounmpo should play

The Milwaukee Bucks had the shortest offseason of any reigning NBA champion in history this summer and it seems to be catching up to the team with Milwaukee on a three-game winning streak and starters Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday and Brook Lopez all out again tonight in Detroit. Giannis Antetokounmpo is listed as probable, so the Bucks are still 5.5-point favorites at Caesars Sportsbook.

Middleton's issues have nothing to do with the short offseason as he's in the COVID health and safety protocols and likely to miss a while. He sat Sunday with what was called a non-COVID illness but that clearly wasn't accurate. Holiday is dealing with a left ankle sprain and Lopez a lingering back injury and both of those could be attributed at least in part to the short offseason.

The Bucks will be missing 42 points, 12.2 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game with those guys out again vs. the Pistons. The Greek Freak has previously said his right knee still isn't right after injuring it in the playoffs, but he has been playing. Antetokounmpo is averaging 30.8 points, 11.5 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.8 blocks per game over his last four games.  If he's scratched tonight, Detroit may become the favorite. Guard Donte DiVincenzo still hasn't debuted off a playoff injury.

Pistons rookie No. 1 overall pick Cade Cunningham will play after sitting out Sunday vs. the Nets with a right ankle sprain that cost him the entire preseason. Cunningham's NBA debut was rather forgettable on Saturday as he was 1-for-8 for two points in a win over the Magic. Forward Saddiq Bey (ankle sprain) is probable tonight. He's second on the team in scoring (15.8 ppg) and leads in rebounding (8.0 rpg).

The Bucks have won 10 straight games in this series by an average of 15.1 points, with eight of the 10 by at least 10. Milwaukee's winning streak is the longest by either team in series history (began play in 1968). The Bucks are 5-1-1 ATS in their past seven in Motown.
