Beyond the Boxscore: Future Stars for 2024 Fantasy Football and Dynasty Fantasy Football Leagues

During the 2023 NFL offseason, Fantasy Football Today hosted a podcast series called "Beyond the Boxscore." The show's usual trio included Adam Aizer, Dan Schneier, and myself. We also were joined by several talented analysts from outside of the CBS/SportsLine family who brought awesome insight. Beyond the Boxscore was an idea that I had wanted to implement for a long time, and it was truly an honor and joy to see it come to life with the support of listeners and analysts alike.

Creating something new and original is plenty to be proud of. I would have been content even if no one listened to Beyond the Boxscore. To me, the Beyond the Boxscore project was a success because we were able to highlight important and overlooked topics. We highlighted Puka Nacua's incredible collegiate data and perfect fit with the Rams multiple times throughout the summer. J.J. Zachariason and Ben Gretch joined Beyond the Boxscore to discuss projections and how RPO plays impact projectable target share, and as a result, we were treated to J.J.'s awesome follow-up research. For Fantasy purposes, this research highlighted Michael Pittman as a potential target hog for 2023.

We did really great work in 2023. In 2024, Beyond the Boxscore will be back in full force on FFT with an exciting summer schedule and several superb guests set to join the show. In addition to the Beyond the Boxscore FFT podcast episodes, I plan to create follow-up Beyond the Boxscore articles on SportsLine where I'll discuss topics in more detail.

In our first 2024 Beyond the Boxscore episode, Adam, Dan, and I discussed five potential stars. To prepare, we watched a lot of film, and we of course poured over each player's analytics to attempt to better contextualize and understand what we saw on the field in 2023.
