Belmont morning line odds: Racing insider gives picks for the Pick 4 for Saturday, May 13
Beyer Speed Figure maker Bob Weir, who has had multiple five-figure days at the track, attacks Saturday's middle Pick 4 at Belmont Park
World class horse racing takes place at Belmont Park outside of New York City, and on Saturday there's a Pick 4 that begins with the Man o' War Stakes at 3:07 p.m. ET and ends with Race 8. Before you make any picks, you NEED to know how racing insider and accomplished horseplayer Bob Weir has handicapped the sequence.
A member of the Beyer Speed Figure-making team who is based in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Weir is a two-time qualifier for the prestigious National Horseplayers Championship in Las Vegas. He has produced multiple five-figure days at the track over the years, including a $60,000 Pick 6 at Del Mar in 2014.
Last year he was red-hot in the Triple Crown prep races, hitting the superfecta in the Blue Grass Stakes for $1,678 and exactas in the Fountain of Youth Stakes and Tampa Bay Derby. He also hit the 19-1 winner of the Man o' War Stakes, the trifecta in the Pegasus World Cup, the superfecta in the Met Mile and multiple Pick 4s, including May 14's at Belmont for $1,851.
Last month he hit the late Pick 4 at Gulfstream Park for $641 and the exacta in the Florida Derby. And four weeks ago he nailed the Pick 5 at Keeneland and the exacta in the Lexington Stakes.
For Saturday, Weir has handicapped the Pick 4 at Belmont Park, made his picks and constructed his tickets.
We can tell you that Weir is high on Arcangelo, a 10-1 longshot in the Peter Pan Stakes, the second leg of the Pick 4. "The first step out of the maiden ranks is always tough, but this colt could prove better than he looks on paper and will be a fair price," Weir told SportsLine. Arcangelo is Weir's top pick in the Peter Pan Stakes and an A horse on his Pick 4 tickets.
In addition, Weir's top pick in one of the other races is an even bigger double-digit longshot. Weir says the horse "does not have much to beat" and could spice up the Pick 4. Weir is including this longshot on his tickets, and so should you. You NEED to see Weir's analysis before making any Pick 4 selections.
