Bears vs. Lions line, odds: Detroit expert reveals pick for Thanksgiving Day clash in Week 12

The Detroit Lions will continue the quest for their first victory of the 2021 NFL season when they host their annual Thanksgiving Day game against the NFC North-rival Chicago Bears. Detroit (0-9-1), which hasn't won since Week 13 of the 2020 campaign at Chicago, suffered a 13-10 defeat in Cleveland last Sunday. The Bears (3-7) are coming off their fifth straight loss, a 16-13 setback against Baltimore.

Kickoff from Ford Field is set for 12:30 p.m. ET. Chicago is a three-point favorite in the latest Bears vs. Lions odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while the over-under for total points scored is 41.5. Before making any Lions vs. Bears picks, you NEED to see which side SportsLine expert R.J. White is on.

White, a CBS Sports fantasy and gambling editor, ended the 2020 season on an 80-59 run on all NFL picks, returning more than $1,400 during that span. He also is outstanding at handicapping the Lions, going 43-23-2 on his last 68 picks involving Detroit, returning over $1,700. It's no surprise, as White has cashed huge twice in the world's most prestigious football handicapping competition, the Las Vegas SuperContest. Anyone who has followed his picks has seen HUGE returns.

White knows there's a strong chance Andy Dalton will start at quarterback for Chicago after Justin Fields exited Sunday's loss in the third quarter with injured ribs. The 34-year-old Dalton, who opened the season as the starter for the Bears before going down with a knee injury in Week 2, threw a pair of touchdown passes in relief against the Ravens, including a 49-yarder to Marquise Goodwin with 1:41 remaining that gave Chicago a 13-9 lead. The Bears have won six of the last seven meetings between the division-rivals, including three straight at Detroit.

White also knows the Lions likely will start a backup quarterback while Jared Goff continues to recover from an oblique injury that kept him out of Sunday's setback at Cleveland. Tim Boyle was ineffective against the Browns in his first NFL start, completing 15-of-23 pass attempts for 77 yards, the same amount Detroit amassed in its tie at Pittsburgh a week earlier.

Now, White has locked in another confident against-the-spread pick for Bears vs. Lions. We can tell you he's leaning Under, but he knows a crucial X-factor makes one side of the spread a MUST-BACK! You ABSOLUTELY need to see what it is before locking in any picks of your own.
