Baltimore Orioles given league-low win total of 20.5 at William Hill for MLB season

No team is given a lower win total for the coming MLB season than Baltimore.

Good news Baltimore Orioles fans: Your team will not lose 100 games for a third straight baseball season. Of course, there will only be 60 regular-season games (we hope) in the 2020 coronavirus-shortened slate. At William Hill sportsbook, the Orioles are given the lowest win total of the 30 MLB teams at just 20.5, with both the Over and Under priced at -110. A total of 58 games must play for that wager to be active and it's far from a sure thing any team will get to 58 games with COVID-19 raging.

The rebuilding Orioles bottomed out in 2018 with a 47-115 record, which is a .290 winning percentage. They were slightly better last year with a 54-108 mark (.333) under first-year manager Brandon Hyde. A 20-win season in 60 games would also be .333, while 21 wins would be .350.

There's little doubt that the Orioles have the most anonymous team in the majors. Their two best offensive players last year were infielder Jonathan Villar (.274, 24 HRs, 73 RBIs, 40 steals) and outfielder Trey Mancini (.291, 35 HRs, 97 RBIs). Villar was traded this offseason to the Marlins after being put on outright waivers, and Mancini underwent surgery in March to remove a malignant tumor from his colon so he will sit this year out.

The starting pitcher who led the team in innings and strikeouts last year, Dylan Bundy, was traded to the Angels. He had made at least 28 starts in each of the past three seasons. It's a full-blown teardown.

The SportsLine Projection Model forecasts Baltimore to win 19.9 games. Doesn't help the Birds will only play teams from AL East (10 games each vs. Yankees, Rays, Blue Jays and Red Sox) and NL East (20 total vs. Phillies, Nationals, Marlins, Braves and Mets). Those are arguably the two deepest divisions in the majors with only the Marlins awful among that group.

Orioles William Hill Futures Odds

Wins: 20.5 (both -110)

To win AL East: +5000

To win pennant: +15000

To win World Series: +30000
