Angels-Guardians odds, lines: Advanced computer model reveals picks for Sunday, May 14, 2023, matchup

SportsLine's Projection Model has generated picks for Sunday's American League matchup between the Los Angeles Angels and Cleveland Guardians

By@SportsLinePublished: May 14, 2023 2:12PM UTC . 3 min read

Teams looking to cut into 3.5-game deficits in their respective divisions battle on Sunday morning when the Los Angeles Angels face the Cleveland Guardians. The Angels (21-19), second in the American League West behind the Texas Rangers, have lost three of their last four games. The Guardians (18-21), second in the AL Central, have dropped two of three. Cleveland has won three of the last four games against Los Angeles, dating back to last season.

The game is slated to begin at 11:35 a.m. ET from Progressive Field in Cleveland. Cleveland is the -130 favorite on the money line (risk $130 to win $100) in the latest Angels vs. Guardians odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while the over/under for total runs scored is 7.5 (see the latest lines for every game on our MLB odds page).

Before making any Angels vs. Guardians picks, you NEED to see the latest MLB predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

The model simulates every MLB game 10,000 times. It went 331-285 on top-rated MLB money-line picks (+357) over the past two seasons. It has opened the 2023 MLB season on a 17-12 roll on all-top rated MLB picks. Anybody who has followed it has seen profitable returns.

The model knows Cleveland shortstop Amed Rosario has jumped his season average 28 points this series. In Friday's loss to the Angels, he was 3-for-5 with a double and triple. He followed that up with a 3-for-4 performance with a double and an RBI on Saturday. He was 4-for-4 in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Tigers. For the season, Rosario is batting .270 with one homer, eight RBI and 19 runs scored.

The model also knows Los Angeles pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani continues to rake. In 38 games this season, he is hitting .288 with eight doubles, one triple, eight homers and 25 RBI with 22 runs scored. He doubled and drove in a run in Saturday's loss to the Guardians. Ohtani has 12 multi-hit games on the year. In 24 career games against Cleveland, he is hitting .295 with four doubles, seven homers and 15 RBI.

Now, it has set its sights on Angels vs. Guardians. We can tell you the model is leaning Over on the total, and it also says one side of the money line has ALL the value! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any MLB picks of your own.
