After making the NFL playoffs twice in the last three seasons under Sean McDermott, the Buffalo Bills already felt like their arrow was pointing upwards heading into the 2020 NFL season. However, now that Tom Brady has left the division, most pundits are assuming that Buffalo is now the team to beat in the AFC East and the organization has been acting accordingly this offseason.

The Bills began their offseason by going out and getting a No. 1 wide receiver by trading for Stefon Diggs and a seventh-round pick in 2020, sending a first-round pick and a trio of Day Three picks (two in 2020 and one in 2021) to the Vikings in return. Then, in NFL free agency, the Bills made a point of beefing up an already-impressive defense by signing defensive end Mario Addison, linebacker Tyler Matakevich, defensive tackle Vernon Butler and linebacker A.J. Klein.

Which 2020 NFL win totals are way off? ... See every projected win total, including a shocking prediction for the Packers, all from a proven projection model that crushed its NFL win total picks last year!

Without a first round pick at the 2020 NFL Draft, the Bills used their second-rounder to add another potential impact player off the edge be selecting Iowa defensive end A.J. Epenesa. With their next three picks, the Bills addressed offensive depth by drafting Utah running back Zack Moss, UCF wide receiver Gabriel Davis and Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm.

Like the rival Patriots, the Bills also drafted a kicker by selecting Tyler Bass from Georgia Southern in the sixth round. It'll be interesting to see if Bass wrestles away the starting job from Steven Hauschka this offseason. And with their last two picks, the Bills managed to find some depth with upside by drafting Oregon State wide receiver Isaiah Hodgkins and Pitt cornerback Dane Jackson.

After adding to a top-three defense and giving Josh Allen a bonafide No. 1 receiver, there's a lot to like about the Bills' roster heading into 2020. At the same time, it's no guarantee that the Patriots are going to drop off as steeply as some are projecting and the Jets and Dolphins are both hoping to take significant steps forward in 2020. So what should we expect from Buffalo this season?

The SportsLine Projection Model predicts that the Bills win an average of 9.2 games in the computer's 10,000 simulations of the 2020 NFL season, down from 9.9 projected wins prior to the 2020 NFL Draft. Buffalo wins the division 57.1 percent of the time and makes the playoffs 70.5 percent of the time. The Bills are also currently 20-1 to win Super Bowl 55 according to William Hill, which is tied for 10th-best odds in the NFL.
