2026 The Open Championship odds, predictions: Top picks, props and analysis for the upcoming event at Royal Birkdale in Southport, England
Golf insider Brady Kannon has broken down the 2026 The Open Championship field at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England, and locked in his predictions and best bets
After winning six tournaments a year ago, including The Open Championship, the world's top golfer has been in a bit of a slump. Scottie Scheffler, who has 25 wins as a professional, including four majors, is looking to win back-to-back Open Championships when he takes part in this year's event July 16-19 at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England. He won last year's event by four strokes over Harris English after shooting 7-under in the second round, en route to finishing 17-under-par.
The tournament, which begins on Thursday, will be played on the par-70, 7,156-yard course. Scottie Scheffler is the +550 favorite at FanDuel Sportsbook. Others expected to contend include Rory McIlroy (+850), Tommy Fleetwood (+1400), Jon Rahm (+1900), Xander Schauffele (+2000) and Mike Fitzpatrick (+2000).
Before making any 2026 The Open Championship picks, you NEED to see the predictions and The Open Championship best bets from elite golf expert Brady Kannon.
Kannon is an elite golfing handicapper with more than 30 years of experience in the industry. He has called eight major winners since 2013 and hit six PGA winners, including 110-1 longshot Harris English at the Farmers Insurance Open in 2025. He also hit on Matt Fitzpatrick (15-1) this year for an outright winner. Additionally, he's 49-44-5 on head-to-head bets since joining SportsLine. Anyone who followed his lead could have been WAY UP!
Now, Kannon has been digging into the 2026 The Open Championship field to find the best betting value and just locked in his The Open Championship best bets to back. We can tell you he's fading Bryson DeChambeau at 40-1 at FanDuel.
"The number is telling us something here," Kannon said. "One, DeChambeau is not likely garnering much attention in the betting market and two, the oddsmakers aren't necessarily liking his chances either. DeChambeau has missed the cut in all three majors this season and it is arguable that the Open Championship is the one of the four, least suited for his game.Â
"He finished 10th last year at Royal Portrush but was lucky to even make the cut after shooting 78 in Round 1. He has missed the cut at The Open three times, including in 2017 at Royal Birkdale. Aside from all of the distractions currently for DeChambeau, I just don't feel this is the best golf course for his game."
Kannon has revealed his best bets, and they include an 80-1 longshot who "is arguably having the best season of his career with eight Top-10 finishes." You ABSOLUTELY need to see who it is before locking in your bets!
