2025 New Hampshire Mobil 1 301 odds, NASCAR picks: Best bets for the Round of 12 race from proven racing expert
CBS Sports NASCAR writer Steven Taranto reveals his NASCAR picks to SportsLine for the 2025 New Hampshire Race on Sunday
The first leg of the Round of 12 playoffs heads to New Hampshire Motor Speedway with the 2025 Mobil1 301 on Sunday. Christopher Bell won the third leg of the Round of 16 last week, but Denny Hamlin leads the playoff standings. William Byron is second at +24 and Kyle Larson third at +24 to lead the 12 remaining drivers in the postseason, which is comprised of four rounds over the final 10 races of the season. Four drivers are eliminated in each of the first three rounds, which consist of three races each. The remaining four drivers compete for the title in the season-ending championship race.Â
Bell is the +330 favorite (risk $100 to win $330) in the 2025 Mobil 1 301 odds, while Ryan Blaney, Larson and Hamlin are at +650, Chase Briscoe at +700 and Joey Logano at +750. Other NASCAR at New Hampshire Motor Speedway contenders include Byron (+1100) and Chase Elliott (+1200). Sunday's race is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. ET.Â
Before making any New Hampshire race picks, you NEED to see what CBS Sports NASCAR writer Steven Taranto has to say.
Taranto, who moonlights as a sim racer and has 20 career wins in iRacing, is the lead NASCAR writer for CBSSports.com. Taranto was red-hot for SportsLine in 2024 as he nailed 17 winners, including 16-1 longshot William Byron at the Daytona 500 and 14-1 longshot Chase Elliott at Texas. Anybody following his NASCAR picks could have seen HUGE returns!
For the New Hampshire race, Taranto is high on Denny Hamlin (+650). He also has a head-to-head prop bet, with Bubba Wallace (+130) to finish ahead of Ryan Blaney (-175). "This is an interesting head-to-head bet that could easily go one way or the other," Taranto said. "While Ryan Blaney is the favorite at -175 and has run up front at New Hampshire before, results at this track haven't been there consistently for him as he has just two top fives and 12 top 10s in four starts, including none since 2021.
"Bubba Wallace, meanwhile, has finishes of third and eighth in two of his last three New Hampshire starts, and is currently doing some of the best driving of his Cup career right now (sans a crash at Bristol a week ago). After comfortably making the Round of 12, Wallace begins this round with a one point advantage over the cut line to make the Round of 8, and from my standpoint it's worth the +130 odds to see if he can take a major first step towards the deepest playoff run of his career."
Taranto has also identified three other drivers in his 2025 New Hampshire race best bets. He's also high on a huge NASCAR longshot who's around 55-1, potentially netting any backer a HUGE payday! You ABSOLUTELY NEED to see his picks before locking in any NASCAR picks of your own.
