2025 Martinsville 500 odds, NASCAR picks: Best bets for the Round of 8 race from proven racing expert
CBS Sports NASCAR writer Steven Taranto reveals his NASCAR picks to SportsLine for the 2025 Martinsville Speedway Xfinity 500 on Sunday
The final Round of 8 playoff race will be held at Martinsville Speedway for the Xfinity 500 on Sunday. Denny Hamlin won the first leg of the Round of 8 two weeks ago, before Chase Briscoe qualified for the championship with a win at Talladega. Also in contention for the Final Four are Christopher Bell, who is third in the standings at +37, and Kyle Larson, fourth in the standings at +36, followed by William Byron at -36, Joey Logano at -38, Ryan Blaney at -47 and Chase Elliott at -62 in the postseason, which is comprised of four rounds over the final 10 races of the season. Four drivers are eliminated in each of the first three rounds, which consist of three races each. The remaining four drivers compete for the title in the season-ending championship race.Â
Blaney is the +400 favorite (risk $100 to win $400) in the 2025 Xfinity 500 odds, while Larson and Hamlin are at +500, followed by Bell and Elliott at +650. Other NASCAR at Martinsville Speedway contenders include Byron and Logano at +850. Sunday's race is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. ET.Â
Before making any Martinsville Speedway 500 picks, you NEED to see what CBS Sports NASCAR writer Steven Taranto has to say.
Taranto, who moonlights as a sim racer and has 20 career wins in iRacing, is the lead NASCAR writer for CBSSports.com. Taranto was red-hot for SportsLine in 2024 as he nailed 17 winners, including 16-1 longshot William Byron at the Daytona 500 and 14-1 longshot Chase Elliott at Texas. Anybody following his NASCAR picks could have seen HUGE returns!
For the Martinsville Speedway race, Taranto is high on Ryan Blaney (+400). He also has a head-to-head prop bet, with Christopher Bell (-105) to finish ahead of Kyle Larson (-130). "The situation concerning the two drivers above the cut line not yet guaranteed a Championship 4 spot is an absolutely fascinating one. On the surface, Bell and Larson's 37 and 36 point advantages seem perfectly safe, but a single point separating them means that a single position could mean the difference between one going to the Championship 4 and one getting knocked out should there be a new winner – As is what happened to Bell a year ago after his disaster of a race led to his points cushion over the cut line collapsing."
Taranto has also identified three other drivers in his 2025 Martinsville Speedway 500 best bets. He's also high on a huge NASCAR longshot who's around 70-1, potentially netting any backer a HUGE payday! You ABSOLUTELY NEED to see his picks before locking in any NASCAR picks of your own.
