2025 Kansas Speedway 400 odds, NASCAR picks: Best bets for the Round of 12 race from proven racing expert
CBS Sports NASCAR writer Steven Taranto reveals his NASCAR picks to SportsLine for the 2025 Kansas Speedway 400 on Sunday
The second leg of the Round of 12 playoffs will be held at Kansas Speedway for the Hollywood Casino 400 on Sunday. Ryan Blaney won the first leg of the Round of 12 last week, and is atop the playoff standings. William Byron is second at +47 and Kyle Larson third at +41 to lead the 12 remaining drivers in the postseason, which is comprised of four rounds over the final 10 races of the season. Four drivers are eliminated in each of the first three rounds, which consist of three races each. The remaining four drivers compete for the title in the season-ending championship race.Â
Larson is the +370 favorite (risk $100 to win $370) in the 2025 Kansas Speedway 400 odds, while Denny Hamlin is at +600, Byron and Blaney are at +700, and Christopher Bell is at +800. Other NASCAR at Kansas Speedway contenders include Tyler Reddick and Chase Briscoe, both at +1100. Sunday's race is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. ET.Â
Before making any Kansas Speedway 400 picks, you NEED to see what CBS Sports NASCAR writer Steven Taranto has to say.
Taranto, who moonlights as a sim racer and has 20 career wins in iRacing, is the lead NASCAR writer for CBSSports.com. Taranto was red-hot for SportsLine in 2024 as he nailed 17 winners, including 16-1 longshot William Byron at the Daytona 500 and 14-1 longshot Chase Elliott at Texas. Anybody following his NASCAR picks could have seen HUGE returns!
For the Kansas Speedway race, Taranto is high on Denny Hamlin (+600). He also has a head-to-head prop bet, with Ross Chastain (-105) to finish ahead of Tyler Reddick (-125). "Interestingly, the past three winners of Kansas' fall race – Bubba Wallace (2022), Tyler Reddick (2023), and Ross Chastain (2024) – all enter Sunday's race below the cut line to advance to the Round of 8," Taranto said. "If it were a few years ago, the presence of Reddick and Wallace wouldn't have been a big deal given the performance of the 23XI cars at Kansas, where they had clearly found something with three wins in four races between 2022 and 2023.
"The problem is, whatever advantage they found, the rest of the field caught up – Reddick finished 17th in the spring, with Riley Herbst 27th and Wallace 33rd after being involved in a crash. It isn't as if Ross Chastain was way better – he finished 18th – but given some of the other options in head-to-head matchups on DraftKings (and my own recent cold spell in head-to-head picks), I would try kicking the tires here."
Taranto has also identified three other drivers in his 2025 Kansas Speedway 400 best bets. He's also high on a huge NASCAR longshot who's around 28-1, potentially netting any backer a HUGE payday! You ABSOLUTELY NEED to see his picks before locking in any NASCAR picks of your own.
