2025 Brickyard 400 odds, NASCAR picks: Best bets for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway race from proven racing expert

CBS Sports NASCAR writer Steven Taranto reveals his NASCAR picks to SportsLine for the 2025 NASCAR Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday

ByUpdated: Jul 27, 2025 4:00PM UTC . 3 min read

Kyle Larson will look to go back-to-back at the Brickyard 400 when he takes part in the championship round of the NASCAR In-Season Challenge at the 2025 Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday. Ty Dillon will face off against Ty Gibbs for the head-to-head In-Season Challenge title. Larson, meanwhile, will look to win his fourth race of the season, but first since May 11. Larson, the 2021 Cup Series champion, has 13 top-10 finishes this season, including a fourth-place finish at last week's EchoPark Automotive 400 at Dover Motor Speedway.

William Byron is the +450 favorite, just ahead of Larson at +500. Other favorites include  Chase Briscoe (+700), Denny Hamlin (+750) and Tyler Reddick (+900) in the latest 2025 Brickyard 400 odds. Sunday's race is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. ET.

Before making any Indianapolis Motor Speedway picks, you NEED to see what CBS Sports NASCAR writer Steven Taranto has to say.

Taranto, who moonlights as a sim racer and has 20 career wins in iRacing, is the lead NASCAR writer for CBSSports.com. Taranto was red-hot for SportsLine in 2024 as he nailed 17 winners, including 16-1 longshot William Byron at the Daytona 500 and 14-1 longshot Chase Elliott at Texas. Anybody following his NASCAR picks could have seen HUGE returns!

For the 2025 NASCAR Brickyard 400, Taranto is high on Chase Briscoe (+700). He also has a head-to-head prop bet, with Ty Dillon (+195) to finish ahead of Ty Gibbs (-180). "When I interviewed him a week ago, Ty Dillon told me that he has 'supreme confidence' at Indianapolis given that he's won there before in the Xfinity Series back in 2014," Taranto said. "Part of that confidence also lies in his results at Indy in Cup: Dillon has two top 15 finishes in the Brickyard 400, a race in which he has never finished worse than 21st. Not to mention his improbable run in the In-Season Challenge and how seemingly everything has fallen exactly the way he's needed it to in order to go from the No. 32 seed to the verge of winning it all.

"Maybe Dillon's Cinderella run through the midseason tournament is just a really cute story, and maybe it's only a matter of time before the superior equipment and resources of Joe Gibbs Racing and Ty Gibbs wins out in the end. But as long as he's gotten this far, we all might as well hope that Ty wins the entire In-Season Challenge and $1 million – And by the way, Dillon's 19th place finish in last year's Brickyard 400 was better than Ty Gibbs' 23rd."

Taranto has also identified four other drivers in his 2025 NASCAR Brickyard 400 best bets. He's also high on a huge NASCAR longshot who's around 100-1, potentially netting any backer a HUGE payday! You ABSOLUTELY NEED to see his picks before locking in any NASCAR picks of your own.
