The top two teams in the Midwest Region will battle for a spot in the Final Four when No. 1 seed Purdue faces No. 2 seed Tennessee in the Elite Eight on Sunday afternoon. Purdue has won all three of its NCAA Tournament games by double digits as it aims for its first Final Four appearance since 1980. Tennessee has never made it past this stage, clinching its second Elite Eight in school history when it beat No. 3 seed Creighton on Friday night.

Tipoff is set for 2:20 p.m. ET from Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. The Boilermakers are favored by 3.5 points in the latest Purdue vs. Tennessee odds, per SportsLine consensus, while the over/under for total points scored is 147.5.

Before making any Tennessee vs. Purdue picks or NCAA Tournament predictions, you need to check out the college basketball predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model. (See up-to-date odds for every game this week on our college basketball odds page.)

The model simulates every Div. I college basketball game 10,000 times. It entered the Sweet 16 round of the 2024 NCAA tournament on a 152-109 roll on all top-rated college basketball picks dating back to last season, returning more than $1,800 for $100 players. It also has a strong 32-21 (+890) record on top-rated spread picks this season, and it called 13 Sweet 16 teams this year. Anyone following it has seen huge returns.

The model knows that the Boilermakers have not lost to a top-20 team all season and they are led by reigning Wooden Award winner Zach Edey, who is expected to win the award again this year. He is averaging 24.6 points and 12.1 rebounds per game, while three of his teammates are also scoring in double figures. Purdue beat Tennessee when these teams met in the Maui Invitational in November.

But the model has also taken into account that the Vols only lost that regular-season meeting by four points, and point guard Zakai Zeigler was still working his way back from an ACL injury. Zeigler had 18 points, six assists and four rebounds in a win over Creighton on Friday, while SEC Player of the Year Dalton Knecht had 24 points. The Vols are one of the best defensive teams in the country, and their offense has flashed serious firepower this season as well.

For Sunday, the model has set its sights on Purdue vs. Tennessee. We can tell you the model is leaning Under on the point total, and it also says one side of the spread hits in well over 50% of simulations. You ABSOLUTELY need to see the model before locking in any college basketball picks.
