The PGA Tour returns to action this week at the 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge for a full-field event at Colonial Country Club. A site where the PGA Tour has traveled to for many years, Colonial will look a bit different this time around as the golf course went through extensive renovations following the completion of last year's tournament.
It was just last year where Emiliano Grillo got the better of Adam Schenk in a playoff. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler just missed out on playing a role and finished T3 for his second consecutive podium finish in his back yard. The year prior, Scheffler fell in a playoff to Sam Burns as the golf course firmed up and Burns posted an early number that others could not match.
Scheffler will be a problem for bettors this week, as he is shorter than 3-1 following a top-10 finish at the PGA Championship. In fact, Scheffler has not finished outside the top 10 since the middle of January and arrives in Dallas having won four out of his last six tournaments.
Those who hope to put an end to Scheffler's scorching streak include Collin Morikawa, Jordan Spieth, Max Homa and Tony Finau. Homa and Morikawa are rounding into form while Finau and Spieth hope a return to a comfortable spot on the calendar can bring a return to their top form.
