Co-host Australia and Sweden will be playing for third place when they face off in a 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup match at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia. Sweden lost 2-1 to Spain in the semifinals Tuesday in a thrilling match where all three goals were scored after the 80th minute. The Matildas equalized in the final 30 minutes against England but gave up two goals in the final 20 minutes to fall 3-1 on Wednesday,

Kickoff is set for 4 a.m. ET on Saturday. The latest Sweden vs. Australia odds list Sweden as the +135 favorites on the 90-minute money line, with Australia priced at +185. A 90-minute draw is +230, and the over/under for total goals scored is 2.5. (For more soccer coverage, click here.)

Before making any Australia vs. Sweden picks, you'll want to see the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup predictions from SportsLine soccer insider Jim Holliman.

Holliman has been a writer and editor for nearly 25 years and grew up with soccer in his blood. He played competitively through high school and has been following the game closely since the 1970's heyday of the North American Soccer League. His interest has expanded worldwide, and his betting approach is centered on crunching the numbers, but he sees the whole field and relies on his instinct.

Since the 2022 World Cup, Holliman has been profitable across multiple leagues, including the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and Bundesliga. He went 21-10 -- bringing a profit of $1,147 for $100 bettors -- on his Champions League predictions last season.

Holliman knows Sweden gave a strong Spanish side everything they could handle Tuesday and have beaten dangerous Japanese and American sides in the knockout round. Sweden had just six shots but put three on net, while allowing just two of Spain's attempts to find the target. The Swedes didn't concede a goal until the 81st minute. Rebecka Blomqvist equalized in the 88th before La Roja broke Sweden's hearts one minute later. The Swedes held the USWNT scoreless in the Round of 16 and advanced on penalties.

But Holliman also has taken into account that Australia will have the backing of the home crowd and might have more motivation. Playing in the third-place match can be a disappointment, but it shouldn't be for the co-hosts. Superstar Sam Kerr is back after missing the first few games of the World Cup and scored the Matildas' goal Wednesday. She is the nation's all-time leading scorer with 63 goals in 121 matches. Goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold leads the World Cup with four clean sheets in six matches for the Aussies.

In preparation for Saturday's match, Holliman has taken an in-depth look at the Australia vs. Sweden matchup and locked in his picks. He is going Over 2.5 Goals and has revealed two other confident best bets, including a confident play on the winner. You ABSOLUTELY need to see his picks and analysis before making any selections of your own.
