The 2023 Valero Texas Open is the last PGA Tour stop before the Masters, meaning the top players are resting up. It also means some lesser-known players will have a real shot at a victory that would earn them a trip to Augusta next week. The Texas Open 2023 field is headlined by Rickie Fowler, Hideki Matsuyama and Tyrrell Hatton. J.J. Spaun, who reached the Round of 16 at last week's WGC-Match Play, is back to defend his Texas Open title. Spaun went 13 under to beat Matt Jones and Matt Kuchar by two strokes for his first victory on the PGA Tour.

Hatton is the 13-1 favorite in the latest Valero Texas Open odds from Caesars Sportsbook. Corey Conners (17-1), Fowler (20-1), Si Woo Kim (21-1) and Matsuyama (24-1) also are expected to be top contenders in the 2023 Valero Texas Open field.

Before you consider any 2023 Valero Texas Open picks, make sure you check out the Texas Open 2023 predictions and best bets from golf betting and fantasy expert Sia Nejad.

Nejad specializes in betting and DFS in golf, among other sports. He's had incredible success in the outright market, first-round leader market and betting head-to-head matchups. In 2022, he hit six first-round leaders in a 12-week span while peppering in tournament outrights throughout the year. In 2023, Sportsline debuted "The Early Wedge," and in the first three months of the show, he has hit two FRLs and three outright winners. Nejad also had a winning head-to-head record in eight of 10 weeks (including full tournament sweeps on head-to-head plays). He is up more than 70 units over that three-month span.

Now, Nejad has scoured the 2023 Texas Open field for the best value and locked in his best bets and favorites to avoid. One thing we can tell you is that Nejad is fading Hatton, even if a sore hand that hampered him at Match Play isn't an issue. That could be "could be much ado about nothing," Nejad says, but he won't be backing Hatton because he doesn't bring value as a 13-1 favorite in this wide-open field.

Instead, Nejad is jumping on a few underdogs, including one MASSIVE longshot who comes in at odds of more than 70-1! This golfer can catch fire with his putter, and watered-down fields like this are perfect for backing longshot players like him. If this player can pull off a STUNNING victory, anyone who backs him would cash in HUGE! You ABSOLUTELY need to see who it is before locking in any 2023 Valero Texas Open picks of your own!

So which 2023 Valero Texas Open players should you target or avoid? And which golfer in the Texas Open 2023 field could bring a MASSIVE payday of well over 70-1? ...
