2023 Jenny Wiley Stakes morning-line odds, picks: Horse racing writer has best bets for Saturday's race

SportsLine horse racing writer Gene Menez has nailed five of his last six races for SportsLine. On Saturday he looks to hit another: the 2023 Jenny Wiley Stakes at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Ky.

Some of the country's best turf fillies and mares square off when the starting gate opens in the 2023 Jenny Wiley Stakes on Saturday at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Ky. Last year's Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf runner-up, In Italian, is the 7-5 morning-line favorite in the Jenny Wiley Stakes odds. The Charlie Appleby-trained With The Moonlight is the 5-2 second choice in the nine-horse Jenny Wiley Stakes field, while West Coast invader Queen Goddess is the 4-1 third choice. Post time for the Jenny Wiley is 5:48 p.m. ET.

With an accomplished field set to enter the starting gate on Saturday, you'll want to see what SportsLine writer Gene Menez has to say before making any Jenny Wiley Stakes picks.

A former reporter and editor at Sports Illustrated, Menez covered an array of sports, including horse racing, for the magazine and its website for almost 14 years. Between 2010 and 2012, he served as SI's handicapper for the Triple Crown races and correctly predicted Super Saver to win the Kentucky Derby in 2010. In 2015, while writing for Sports on Earth, Menez accurately gave out the Kentucky Derby superfecta (American Pharoah, Firing Line, Dortmund and Frosted), which paid $1,268.20 for $2. Then in 2017, he tweeted out his Kentucky Derby picks, including Always Dreaming to win, and hit the Pick 4, which paid almost $6,900 on a $1 bet.

On Dec. 26, Menez hit the Pick 5 at Santa Anita Park for $798.70. And in his last six races for SportsLine he has cashed the winner of the Lecomte Stakes ($172.50), the exacta in the Southwest Stakes ($468), the winner of the Holy Bull Stakes ($180), the winner of the Sam F. Davis Stakes ($228) and the place horse of the Rebel Stakes ($102.50).

Now, Menez has handicapped the field for the Jenny Wiley Stakes, made his picks and formulated his bets.

We can tell you that Menez is high on the chances of Queen Goddess, even though she is the third choice on the morning line, at 4-1. "Queen Goddess is a Grade 1 winner on the dirt, but she arguably is just as good -- or even better -- on the grass," Menez told SportsLine. Menez is using Queen Goddess prominently in his wagers.

Moreover, Menez's top pick is a horse who has a "tactical edge" on Saturday. He also is high on a longshot who "should come running." He is including these horses in his wagers, and so should you. You NEED to see which horses they are before making any Jenny Wiley Stakes picks of your own.

So who wins the Jenny Wiley Stakes? What longshot is a must-back? And how has Menez constructed his wagers? ... Join SportsLine now to get Jenny Wiley Stakes picks and wagers, all from the expert who has nailed five of his last six races for SportsLine!
