Tiger Woods and newly-minted world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler headline another stacked PGA Tour field for this week's 2023 Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club. Scheffler reclaimed the top ranking after repeating as WM Phoenix Open champ Sunday. Woods is playing his first non-major official event since October 2020. They will be joined by Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy, who have both been red-hot, and California-bred stars like Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa and Max Homa.

The event tees off Thurday outside Los Angeles. Rahm is the 7-1 favorite in the latest 2023 Genesis Invitational odds from Caesars Sportsbook. McIlroy (10-1), Scheffler (10-1), Schauffle (14-1) and Justin Thomas (15-1) also are among the top contenders in the Genesis Invitational 2023 field.

Before you lock in any 2023 Genesis Invitational picks, make sure you check out the PGA Tour predictions and best bets from golf insider Patrick McDonald.

After spending time at FanSided and NBC Sports EDGE, McDonald joined CBS Sports as a golf writer in the spring of 2022. Now covering the sport from a broader perspective, McDonald still likes to dip his toes into the betting pools on a weekly basis on the PGA Tour.

McDonald takes a measured approach to his outright selections and is having a profitable 2022-23 season. He is up more than 28 units this season, meaning a profit of more than $2,800 for $100 bettors!

McDonald NAILED the Farmers Insurance Open, backing Homa (25-1) as his top choice! The expert also just missed a MASSIVE 130-1 score at the Sony Open when Hayden Buckley finished as runner-up. He hit another 25-1 shot at the Houston Open, taking Tony Finau to win.

The expert finished the 2021-22 season up 42 units on his outrights, including a MONSTER 250-1 payout on Hudson Swafford at The American Express. Anyone who follows McDonald's advice has been cashing in!

Now, McDonald has sifted through the 2023 Genesis Invitational field for the best value and locked in his best bets and favorites to avoid. One thing we can tell you is that McDonald is fading Viktor Hovland, despite his top-five finish at Riviera last year. The Norwegian's work around the green just isn't good enough to succeed on a course where it is difficult to consistently hit the putting surface, the expert says.

Instead, McDonald is targeting an overlooked star among his outright winners, as well as a MASSIVE longshot of more than 70-1! This long-shot golfer has found his touch on the green and has had success on similar courses! If he can pull off the STUNNING victory, anyone who backs him would cash in HUGE! You ABSOLUTELY need to see who it is before locking in any Genesis Invitational 2023 picks of your own!

So which 2023 Genesis Invitational players should you target or avoid? And which golfer in the Genesis Invitational 2023 field could bring a massive payday of more than 70-1? ...
