After a seven-game appetizer in Week 0, the 2023 college football season kicks into high gear over Labor Day weekend as the Week 1 schedule unfolds with action on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Among the notable Week 1 college football odds via the SportsLine consensus, Utah is -6.5 against Florida, North Carolina is -2.5 against South Carolina and LSU is -2.5 against Florida State (see more college football lines right here).

Before making any Week 1 college football bets, be sure to see what legendary college football handicapper Bruce Marshall has to say.

For years Vegas-based Marshall was synonymous with The Gold Sheet, the famed sports betting newsletter. With a background in play-by-play work and sports information while in college, Bruce joined TGS in 1981 when hired by the legendary Mort Olshan and served as executive editor for many years. Marshall now supplies his unique and colorful brand of football and basketball analysis to SportsLine members.

An in-demand guest on numerous sports talk radio and TV shows across the country, Bruce's vast array of editorial work has been featured in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the New York Post and many other outlets. He has won various handicapping titles and also is working on several book projects.

Now he's studied the Week 1 college football schedule and used his Tech Corner technique to break down every matchup.

One thing we can tell you for Week 1: Marshall is backing Tennessee (-28) against Virginia in a noon ET game that will be played in Nashville.

"Rough debut last year for Tony Elliott at UVA (3-7 SU and 4-6 ATS). Cavs also didn't cover in three tries outside of ACC. UVA also 7-2-1 to the Under in 2022," he said. "Josh Heupel covered all five non-SEC for Vols last season, when UT was also 6-2 laying double digits. Vols 17-9 to the Over in Heupel's last two seasons."

Marshall has evaluated every other matchup and he's found a 19-9 trend on a "value-laden" overlooked team. You ABSOLUTELY need to see who it is before making any college football picks.

Who should you back in Week 1 of college football, and what 19-9 trend gives one overlooked team the edge? ... Join SportsLine now to find out, all from the legendary Vegas handicapper who has won multiple handicapping titles!
