The first World Golf Championships event of the PGA Tour season begins on Wednesday with the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play 2022. It is the tour's only match play event and features as strong a field as any tournament, with 64 of the top 69 ranked golfers scheduled to compete. They are split into 16 groups of four with the match play portion taking place from Wednesday through Friday, before the knockout part takes place on Saturday and Sunday. Billy Horschel is the defending champion and he will look to join three-time winner Tiger Woods as the only players to win in back-to-back years.

Austin Country Club in Austin, Texas, will host the tournament. Caesars Sportsbook lists Jon Rahm as the 14-1 favorite in the latest 2022 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play odds, with Justin Thomas close behind at 16-1. Other contenders include Viktor Hovland (18-1), Collin Morikawa (22-1) and Dustin Johnson (22-1) on the PGA odds board.

If picking an outright winner doesn't intrigue you, betting who will win an individual group may be the way to go. Golf prop bets are growing in popularity because they allow fans to follow the action throughout the weekend.

SportsLine's Mike McClure has analyzed the field and used his proven golf model to simulate the 2022 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play 10,000 times, and there are some MAJOR surprises.

SportsLine's proprietary golf model, built by McClure, has been RED-HOT since the PGA Tour resumed in June of 2020. In fact, the model is up almost $10,000 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.

At the 2021 Open Championship, McClure's best bets included Morikawa winning outright even though he was listed as a massive 40-1 long shot. In addition, McClure's model was all over Rahm's (10-1) first career major championship victory at the 2021 U.S. Open. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the weekend, but the model still projected him as the winner.

This same model has also nailed a whopping seven majors entering the weekend! Anyone who has followed it has seen MASSIVE returns!

Now, McClure has set his sights on the 2022 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play and just revealed his top prop bets. They're a must-see for any player looking for an edge in their match play golf betting strategy.

We can tell you that McClure is high on Rahm to win Group 1 at +125 odds. That group also features Patrick Reed, Cameron Young and Sebastian Munoz. Since first becoming the No. 1 player in the world in mid-2020, Rahm has more PGA Tour wins than the other three in his group combined. He's finished in the top 25 in six of his seven events this year, including three top-10 finishes. Rahm also brings previous success at Austin Country Club as he finished second at this tournament in 2018 and then placed fifth in 2019.

McClure has also locked in a slew of other prop bets for the 2022 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, including a +260 long shot he thinks will win his group! You ABSOLUTELY need to see who it is before locking in any picks of your own.
