After a brutal test at Brookline outside Boston last week, many of the PGA Tour's top golfers make the short trip to Hartford for an easier stroll at the 2022 Travelers Championship. TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn. is one of the PGA Tour's shortest courses, and players like Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy should be able to score very low. Jim Furyk shot the PGA Tour's only 58 on this course in 2016. Harris English won last year in an epic playoff with Kramer Hickok, prevailing on the eighth playoff hole after both finished 13 under par. The tournament tees off Thursday. Justin Thomas has pulled out of the event to rest and treat a back injury that flared up at the U.S. Open.

Caesars Sportsbook lists McIlroy as the 10-1 favorite in its latest 2022 Travelers Championship golf odds, with Scheffler (11-1) and Patrick Cantlay (16-1) next in line. Sam Burns (18-1) and Xander Schauffele (20-1) also are among the favorites in the Travelers Championship 2022 field.

Which players can you trust for your 2022 Travelers Championship fantasy golf picks? Before you bet this major championship or lock in your Fantasy golf lineups, you NEED to see the 2022 Travelers Championship Fantasy golf rankings from Fantasy expert Riley Gates.

Gates is a writer for 247Sports and has covered a range of sports for nearly six years. He has followed golf closely for much longer and has a profound knowledge of the sport. He also knows what it takes to win, on the course and in fantasy sports.

Gates has been crushing his golf picks all season. Before the U.S. Open, he said Scheffler was well worth the high price to have him as the anchor for your Fantasy picks. And he was, as the Masters champion tied for second and was the second-highest fantasy scorer of the week behind winner Matt Fitzpatrick.

At the Memorial Tournament, five of Gates' nine picks finished in the top 15, including Will Zalatoris, who tied for fifth. His biggest sleeper pick of  the week, Brendan Steele -- priced at just $6,600 at DraftKings -- posted a top-10 finish!

And at the Wells Fargo, four of his top six players finished in the top five, including winner Max Homa, a 40-1 long shot. Anyone who has followed Gates is WAY UP!

Now, Gates has ranked his top players for the 2022 Travelers Championship. We can tell you the expert is backing Rory McIlroy, who comes off a tie for fifth at the U.S. Open and has been performing well in every facet of his game. "McIlroy is arguably playing the best golf in the world right now," Gates says, "so I see no reason not to trust him."

On the other hand, Gates is fading Koepka again, given his distractions and his poor play all season. The 32-year-old is expected to join the controversial LIV Golf, according to numerous reports, so that distraction on top of his recent poor play are more than enough reason to steer clear.

For this week's tournament at TPC River Highlands, Gates is backing an emerging player who is priced at just over $7,000 at DraftKings! This golfer has been reeling off top-25 finishes and has a few impressive top-10's, and he should be an excellent value pick this week.

You ABSOLUTELY need to see who Gates is backing and check out his top picks before you bet the 2022 Travelers Championship or enter any Travelers Championship 2022 fantasy golf picks.
