2022 Masters One and Done picks, sleepers, long shots: PGA Tour predictions, expert golf betting advice from DFS pro
DFS pro Mike McClure has locked in his PGA One and Done picks this week for the Masters 2022
After months of buildup, the PGA Tour hits Augusta National Golf Club this week for the playing of the 2022 Masters. The Masters field is once again loaded, with several players looking to take home this year's green jacket. But when it comes down to it, most eyes will be on five-time Masters champion Tiger Woods, who is scheduled to tee off at 10:34 am ET. Reigning champion Hideki Matsuyama is a question mark, after the Japanese star withdrew from last week's Valero Texas Open after one round. Matsuyama has been in Augusta preparing to play, however. World No. 2 Jon Rahm is the betting favorite at 10-1 in the latest Masters odds from Caesars Sportsbook. Other Masters top contenders include Justin Thomas (14-1), Dustin Johnson (16-1), Cameron Smith (16-1), Scottie Scheffler (16-1), and Rory McIlroy (18-1). The total tournament purse is expected to be $11.5 million, with $2.07 million going to the winner, making it imperative that you nail your Masters One and Done picks this week.Â
Before locking in your own 2022 Masters One and Done picks, you NEED to see what daily Fantasy sports pro Mike McClure has to say.
The One and Done format is growing in popularity. It has several noticeable similarities to NFL Survivor pools, with the main difference being entries are not eliminated with a bad week. Players pick one golfer per week and earn points based on their selected golfer's prize money for that tournament. Golfers can only be used once per season, and the point format makes nailing majors and big money tournaments critical.
McClure is a DFS legend with nearly $2 million in career winnings, and he's been RED-HOT on his PGA picks dating back to the PGA Tour restart in June of 2020. McClure uses his proprietary simulation model to analyze the field and crush his golf picks. In fact, the model is up over $8,200 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.
At the 2021 Open Championship, McClure's best bets included Collin Morikawa winning outright even though he was listed as a massive 40-1 long shot. In addition, McClure's model was all over Jon Rahm's (10-1) first career major championship victory at the 2021 U.S. Open. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the weekend, but the model still projected him as the winner.Â
This same model has also nailed a whopping seven majors entering the weekend! Anyone who has followed it has seen MASSIVE returns!
McClure has been nailing his one and done PGA picks all year. He nailed Hideki Matsuyama's outright win at the Sony Open, then followed that up by picking Will Zalatoris at the Farmers Insurance Open. The result: Zalatoris finished in sole possession of second place, taking home $915,600. At the Waste Management Phoenix Open McClure's top two One and Done picks were Xander Schauffele and Brooks Koepka, who both finished T-3, one stroke behind the leaders, which was good for $434,600 each. At the Arnold Palmer Invitational, McClure listed Tyrell Hatton and Matt Fitzpatrick among his top one and done options. Both finished in the top-10, with Hatton finishing T-2 ($908,000) and Fitzpatrick finishing T-9 ($339,000).Â
Now, McClure has set his sights on the 2022 Masters and just revealed his optimal One and Done picks. They are a must-see for any player looking for an edge in their One and Done pool.
We can tell you that one of McClure's favorite Masters Open One and Done picks is Justin Thomas, who is currently listed at 14-1 to win the tournament at Caesars. Thomas has been one of the best and most consistent players on the PGA Tour for several years, and has publicly made it known that he strongly covets a green jacket.Â
This will be Thomas' fourth appearance at Augusta National, and the seventh ranked player in the world has improved his finish every year. Plus, Thomas ranks second on the PGA Tour in strokes gained tee-to-green, third in strokes gained total, fifth in strokes gained approach, and 14th in strokes gained off the tee. With the amount of talent in the Masters 2022 field, McClure thinks Thomas could fly under the radar this week, making him an excellent one and done pick this week at Augusta National.
McClure is also targeting another One and Done sleeper who's listed at 20-1 in the 2022 Masters odds and is primed to blow up this week, giving you a HUGE return! Picks like these could be the difference between winning your One and Done pool or going home with nothing. You ABSOLUTELY need to see who it is before locking in your pick.
