Anastasia Mishina and Aleksandr Galliamov of the Russian Olympic Committee will try to complete their ascent to the top of the figure skating world when they compete in the short program in the pairs event beginning Friday at the Capital Indoor Stadium in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
Mishina and Galliamov are the +140 favorites in the pairs figure skating odds. Sui Wenjing and Han Cong of China are the +175 second choice. The short program begins at 5:30 a.m. ET. Friday.
Before locking in any Beijing Olympics 2022 picks or predictions, you need to see what SportsLine's Olympics expert, Mike Tierney, has to say. (Head over to SportsLine's 2022 Olympics page for more analysis and updates.)
A national sportswriter whose work appears in The New York Times and Los Angeles Times, Tierney has covered nine Olympic Games in person. For Rio in 2016, Tierney profited big-time. He told readers to bet Over on Team USA's gold medal count (41.5) and Over on Team USA's overall medal count (102.5). The result? 46 golds, 121 medals and two easy cashes.
For the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, Tierney hit two of his three predictions: Germany (+200) to win the most gold medals and the United States winning Under 10.5 gold medals (+110). And at last year's Tokyo Games, he correctly predicted the United States would go Over 111.5 total medals (-110).
Now, Tierney has analyzed the field for pairs figure skating and identified a best bet. We can tell you that he is fading the favorites, Mishina and Galliamov. "The Russians are only 20 and 22 years old," Tierney says.
Instead Tierney has picked a team that has the "experience" edge over the field. You ABSOLUTELY need to see what he has to say before locking in your picks.

Tierney's picks and analysis:
Figure skating, pair skating (5:30 a.m. ET)
Sui Wenjing-Han Cong, China (+175)
Home-ice advantage and experience tip the scales to the second duo on the board behind the gifted but young Anastasia Mishina and Aleksandr Galliamov of the Russian Olympic Committee (+140). The Chinese duo topped its ROC rivals in the mixed pairs short program during the team event, though the Russians took gold. Sui-Han stole off with a silver in the Games' pairs event four years ago. The Russians are only 20 and 22 years old, relative babies compared to Sui (26) and Han (29). The most pairs medals this century have been claimed by China.
