A strong PGA Tour field including world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is set to tee off Thursday in the 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson outside Dallas. Seven of the top 15 players in the World Golf Ranking are scheduled to compete at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney Texas. Jordan Spieth, Dustin Johnson and Jordan Spieth are among those back in action, and K.H. Lee returns to defend after winning his first PGA Tour title at Craig Ranch last year. Brooks Koepka was forced to withdraw from the field.

Caesars Sportsbook lists Scheffler as the 9-1 favorite in its latest 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson golf odds, with Justin Thomas right behind at 10-1. Others in the 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson field expected to be top contenders include Xander Schauffele (16-1), Johnson (18-1), and Spieth (18-1).

Which players can you trust for your 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson Fantasy golf picks? Before you bet this PGA Tour event or make any picks, you have to see the 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson Fantasy golf rankings from Fantasy expert Riley Gates.

Gates is a writer for 247Sports and has covered a range of sports for nearly five years. He has followed golf closely for much longer and has a profound knowledge of the sport. He also knows what it takes to win, on the course and in Fantasy sports.

At last week's Wells Fargo Championship, Gates was on fire, with four of his top six players finishing in the top five! That included winner Max Homa, a 40-1 shot, and runners-up Keegan Bradley (35-1) and Matt Fitzpatrick (22-1).

The previous week at the Mexico Open, he NAILED the winner, backing Jon Rahm as his top choice despite the Spaniard's recent slump. And at the Masters, eight of his 20 picks finished in the top eight, including winner Scheffler and runner-up McIlroy. In fact, the top four players on the final leader board were among his picks.

He has been on a roll all season. He nailed his picks at the Sentry, with four of his top seven picks posting top-five finishes, and he duplicated that at the Hero World Challenge. Anyone who has followed Gates is way up.

Now, Gates has ranked his top players for the 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson, and you'll really want to see who he is backing.

We can tell you that Gates is strongly backing Scheffler, who has been really tough to beat so far. His Masters victory was his fourth win over the past three months, and he has been excellent tee to green and with his putter. Gates sees no reason to stop backing the surging 25-year-old.

On the other hand, Gates is not looking for much from Spieth, even though he won the RBC Heritage his last time out and is among the top five favorites. The former Player of the Year and three-time major winner has been inconsistent this season, and he barely cracks the expert's top 10.

For the 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson, the Fantasy expert is backing a long shot who comes in at around 50-1. This player has been gaining strokes off the tee and has lurked near the top of the leader board his past two outings. He should be a STRONG piece for your Fantasy lineup.

You ABSOLUTELY need to see who Gates is backing and check out his top picks before you bet the 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson or enter any Fantasy golf picks.
