2022 Arnold Palmer Invitational One and Done picks: PGA Tour predictions, expert golf betting advice from DFS pro
The PGA Tour remains in Florida this week with the 2022 Arnold Palmer Invitational set to tee off on Thursday, Mar. 3 at Bay Hill Golf Course. The tournament has been dominated in recent years by European and Australian golfers. The Arnold Palmer Invitational field will feature five of the top 10 golfers in the Official World Golf Rankings, with world No. 1 Jon Rahm the headliner. Defending champion Bryson DeChambeau will miss the tournament due to injury. The 2022 Arnold Palmer Invitational purse is $12 million, with $2.16 million going to the winner. Rahm is the 17-2 betting favorite in the latest Arnold Palmer Invitational odds from Caesars Sportsbook. He is followed by Rory McIlroy (12-1), Scottie Scheffler (16-1), Viktor Hovland (16-1), and Hideki Matsuyama (25-1). All will likely be popular PGA one and done picks this week at Bay Hill.
Before locking in your own 2022 Arnold Palmer Invitational one and done picks, you NEED to see what Daily Fantasy Sports pro Mike McClure has to say.
The One and Done format is growing in popularity. It has several noticeable similarities to NFL Survivor pools, with the main difference being entries are not eliminated with a bad week. Players pick one golfer per week and earn points based on their selected golfer's prize money for that tournament. Golfers can only be used once per season, and the point format makes nailing majors and big money tournaments critical.
McClure is a DFS legend with nearly $2 million in career winnings, and he's been RED-HOT on his PGA picks dating back to the PGA Tour restart in June of 2020. McClure uses his proprietary simulation model to analyze the field and crush his golf picks.
Three weeks ago at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, McClure's top three One and Done picks were Xander Schaffele, Brooks Koepka, and Louis Oosthuizen. Schauffele and Koepka finished T-3, one stroke behind the leaders, which was good for $434,600 each. Oosthuizen finished T-14, and won $133,250.
At the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, McClure was all over Matthew Fitzpatrick. The 27-year-old went out and shot 14-under par for the tournament, finishing in a tie for sixth place, taking home $293,625.
At the Farmers Insurance Open, McClure's top pick was 25-year-old Will Zalatoris. The result: Zalatoris finished in sole possession of second place, taking home $915,600. While he came up short against eventual winner Luke List in a one-hole playoff, Zalatoris' performance at Torrey Pines was HUGE for one and done players.
At The American Express, McClure was all over Patrick Cantlay and Sungjae Im, who finished 9th ($222,300) and T-11 ($184,300), respectively.
At the Sony Open 2022, McClure's model listed Hideki Matsuyama among the top contenders. The reigning Masters champion went out and overcame a five-stroke deficit on the back nine of the final round to notch his eighth career PGA Tour victory.
At the 2022 Sentry Tournament of Champions, McClure included Jon Rahm and Daniel Berger among his top PGA picks. The result: Rahm came in second with a score of 33-under par, while Berger secured a top-five finish with a score of 25-under par. Anybody that included them in their one and done picks is in great shape.
At the 2021 World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba in November, the model was all over Viktor Hovland (18-1) winning his third PGA Tour title. At the 2021 Open Championship, McClure's best bets included Collin Morikawa winning outright even though he was listed as a massive 40-1 long shot. In addition, McClure's model was all over Jon Rahm's (10-1) first career major championship victory at the 2021 U.S. Open.
McClure's model is up nearly $10,000 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament. Anyone who has followed it has seen MASSIVE returns, and anyone tailing his one and done picks should be in great shape.
Now, McClure has set his sights on the 2022 Arnold Palmer Invitational and just revealed his optimal One and Done picks. They are a must-see for any player looking for an edge in their One and Done pool.
We can tell you that one of McClure's favorite Arnold Palmer Open One and Done picks is Matt Fitzpatrick, who is currently listed at 28-1 to win the tournament at Caesars. Fleetwood, currently ranked No. 25 in the Official World Golf Rankings, is making his first appearance since the Waste Management Phoenix Open. The 27-year-old has established himself as one of the premier golfers in the world, and is a definite threat to win any tournament he enters. He finished T-10 at the Phoenix Open and T-6 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in his two PGA Tour appearances in 2022, and McClure likes chances at notching his first outright win of the year. With the talent in the Arnold Palmer field, it's very possible that Fitzpatrick will be an under-the-radar One and Done pick this week at Bay Hill.
McClure is also targeting another One and Done sleeper who's listed at 33-1 in the 2022 Arnold Palmer Invitational odds and is primed to blow up this week, giving you a HUGE return! Picks like these could be the difference between winning your One and Done pool or going home with nothing. You ABSOLUTELY need to see who it is before locking in your pick.
